| We investigate empirically the role of moral and social concerns in farmers' decision to adopt integrated crop protection (IP) and organic farming (OF). A survey questionnaire has been sent to 1286 fruit-growers and vegetable producers located in the French areas of Alpes de Haute Provence, Hautes-Alpes and Vaucluse. Analysis of individual responses (N = 243) shows that, although economic concerns play a strong role, a significant number of respondents give high importance to moral and social ones. | Il rotenone, pesticida naturale utilizzato in agricoltura biologica su una grande varietà di colture, è stato determinato quantitativamente mediante Atmosheric Pressure Chemical Ionisation Spettrometria di Massa Tandem (APCI MS/MS) nelle olive e negli oli di oliva ottenuti dopo trattamento in una prova di campo che ha interessato la cv Carolea in Calabria. La tecnica analitica ha previsto la realizzazione di esperimenti “Multiple Reaction Monitoring” (MRM) utilizzando uno standard interno ottenuto per sintesi. Le quantità rilevate sono comprese tra 9 mg/Kg di olio dopo 1 giorno dal trattamento e 0.15 mg/Kg di olio dopo 1 mese circa dal trattamento. Quest’ultimo valore è molto più elevato dei 40 µg/Kg permessi dalla legislazione italiana. |

| Im Jahr 2003 wurden in Deutschland ca. 410.000 t Milch entsprechend der Richtlinien des ökologischen Landbaus für den Markt erzeugt. Dies entspricht einem Anteil von ca. 1,4 % der gesamten Milchproduktion in Deutschland (BLE, 2004). Im Vergleich zu anderen Ländern wie Schweiz, Österreich oder Dänemark ist dieser Anteil als gering anzusehen – ungeachtet dessen ist die ökologische Milchproduktion in den letzten Jahrzehnten kontinuierlich gestiegen. Sie erhöhte sich 2003, im Vergleich zum Vorjahr, um 8,6 %. Der Anteil von Öko-Milch und Öko-Molkereiprodukten am deutschen Lebensmittelmarkt beträgt 3 – 4 %, ca. 465 Mio Euro. | Fifty-five spring barley varieties from the German official varieties list were tested for their susceptibility to loose smut (Ustilago nuda) and covered smut (Ustilago hordei) under a simulation of natural infection conditions. For loose smut infection cv. ‘Lawina’ with about 5 % infected plants was used as spreader. In the trial with covered smut 1kg of seeds were shaken with 1g of spores to contaminate the surface of barley seeds before sowing. Only ‘Steffi’ stayed absolutely free from loose smut during two infection cycles at two locations. With an average of 12.6 % plants with loose smut ‘Danuta’ was the most susceptible. | Das Bio-Angebot in der AHV reicht von der Umstellung einzelner Produkte, über Öko-Tage, -Wochen und -Menüs bis hin zur vollständigen Umstellung. Die wenigsten AHV-Betriebe mit Bio-Verwendung sind gemäß EG-Öko-Verordnung zertifiziert. Ebenso ist den wenigsten die Kontrollpflicht bekannt. Zur Zeit der Erhebung kontrollierten lediglich sieben der insgesamt 20 befragten Kontrollstellen AHV-Betriebe. Die wenigsten verfügten über entsprechend ausgebildetes Personal und speziell für diesen Bereich verfasste Kontrollformulare.
