Considering the risks associated with food consumption, several risk reduction strategies are used by consumers, all linked to brand loyalty, store image or label references that build trust in the product. A food product can be labeled organic if it complies with the principles for organic production, processing, labeling and control. Previous researchers have identified that organic certification logo have significant impact on consumption of organic products in urban markets. Organic logo increases trustworthiness of urban consumers about organic produces. Previous studies further observed that high price has deep connotation with trustworthiness about organic produces and urban buyers have ability to pay high price. The urban buyers though they have... |

Michael and Louisa Kiely founded Australia’s Carbon Coalition Against Global Warming in February 2006. It is now often abbreviated to the Carbon Coalition. The intention is to lobby for the right of Australian landholders to trade on the emissions offset market the credits that they can earn by sequestering carbon in their soils. Is soil carbon the new cash crop? asks Kiely. He speaks with the zeal of an evangelist and calls himself a ‘carbon farmer’. “Carbon farming is not a new practice. It is a new way to describe a collection of techniques which can increase soil organic carbon in agricultural land ... It’s about changing the way we farm ...” says Kiely. Carbon farming is managing the land to sequester carbon and farming techniques that can meet this... |

Damit... |

Korea’s Organic World Congress (OWC) was a milestone for Korea, for Asia, and for the world. It perhaps signals an Asian Spring for organics where Korea, in particular, and Asia, in general, are set to make rapid progress in meeting their aspirations and goals for reclaiming food and agriculture as organic. Korea’s OWC can serve to reinvigorate the momentum of organics in Asia where the organic statistics are dominated by the ‘organic giants’ of China and India. One remarkable enduring legacy of the OWC is the Namyangju Organic Museum. It is the world’s first museum dedicated to organic agriculture and was launched to coincide with the OWC. It is housed in a bold and strikingly modern new building. The museum presents a timeline of the history of organic... |

This paper reveals that the first public lecture in Australia on biodynamic agriculture was held on 26 June 1938 at the home of the architects Walter Burley Griffin and Marion Mahoney Griffin at Castlecrag, Sydney. This meeting is a seminal event in the history of the development of organic farming in Australia. The Griffins were responsible for the design of Australia’s capital city, Canberra. They were introduced to Anthroposophy in Australia, with Marion joining the Anthroposophic Society in Australia in 1930 and Walter joining in 1931. They each played an active and prominent role in the discussion, dissemination, presentation and celebration of the thoughts and teachings of Rudolf Steiner. Marion wrote an extensive unpublished memoir of over 1600... |

Consumers' interest in organic foods is increasing and so is the need for robust analytical tools for their authentication. This review focuses on the most promising biomarkers/analytical approaches that are available for the authentication of organic produce. Food products have been subdivided into two groups: foods of plant origin (crops) and foods of animal origin (meat, milk and dairy products, eggs and fish). For each food category the most suitable biomarkers are presented and their potential for authentication is discussed. In the light of current knowledge, it is unlikely that the authentication of organic food products can be attained by the measurement of a single marker. Analytical approaches based on the measurement of multiple markers and/or... |
