Efecto de diferentes densidades de siembra en el engorde de tilapia roja (Oreochromis mossambicus x O. aureus) en jaulas colocadas en la bahía de Casilda, Cuba OceanDocs

Con el objetivo de evaluar el efecto sobres el crecimiento y la supervivencia, de diferentes densidades de siembra de tilapia roja en jaulas de diferentes volúmenes (4, 6 y 16 m3) se desarrollaron tres ciclos de engorde en la bahía de Casilda, provincia Sancti-Spíritus. La selección del sitio se realizó a partir de una red de cinco estaciones muestreadas en lluvia y seca para determinar los parámetros físico, químicos, batimétricos y turbidez. Los alevines se adaptaron al agua de mar en tanques de 12 m3, con flujo de agua marina (1.4 - 2.8 L/segundo) durante 24 horas con supervivencia de 96%. Al emplear densidades de 73 y 184 alevines/m3 en jaulas de 6 m3, no se observaron diferencias significativas (p> 0.05) en el crecimiento y supervivencias...

Histomorphology of bursa of Fabricius: effects of stock densities on commercial broilers Rev. Bras. Ciênc. Avic.

During the past few years, there has been considerable interest on the effects of stocking density on broiler behavior and immunity. Stress may cause immunodeficiency by affecting cell and humoral responses, as well as body weight decrease, and foot-pad dermatitis. The aim of this study was to study histomorphological changes of the bursa of Fabricius in broilers submitted to three different stocking densities (10, 15, and 20 birds/m²) from one to 42 days of age. Three birds from each group were sacrifieced on days 7 and 42. The bursa was collected, fixed, and processed for histomorphometric assessment using a Kontrom KS 400 image analyzer. Dynamics of some limnological characteristics in pacu (Piaractus mesopotamicus) culture tanks as function of handling BJB

In order to study the water quality in fish tanks, a 166-day (January to July 1992) experiment was realized using the indigenous species "pacu" (Piaractus mesopotamicus). Two different protein levels were tested in the diet (16% and 34% crude protein) and three stocking densities (0.25, 0.50 and 0.77 fish/m²). From the results, it was observed that the interactions between stocking density and experiment length affected the characteristics bicarbonate and alkalinity, as well as the interaction between stocking density and protein levels affected concentrations of free and total CO2, conductivity and pH (P < 0.05). The water temperature in tanks changed significantly during the period of study (P < 0.05),decreasing gradually from summer to winter....
