The hybrid drying of pistachios by solar energy and high electric field 111

An innovative access to sun drying was tested in this study using a flat bed as product support and high electric field exciter. The moist unshelled pistachios were dried in electric fields under open sun and variation of weight was recorded. The results showed that the Logarithmic model was found to be the most suitable for describing drying curve of pistachios. By applying 10, 20 and 30 kV electric fields about 0.58 to 3.1 W for each kilograms moist pistachio in solar drying; the nuts moisture could be cut in 8 h to a proper level. The energy-efficient and lower cost of the drying apparatus with a simple needle and plate assembly are the advantages of this technique.

Some physical and mechanical properties of three cultivars of tomatoes customed for sun drying 111

الهدف من هذه الدراسة هو دراسة بعض الخصائص الفيزيائية والميكانيكية لثلاثة أصناف من الطماطم (نسمة ، ماسة ، 2020) للمساعدة في تصميم وتطوير آلة محددة لتقطيع الطماطم إلى نصفين متطابقين لاستخدامها في التجفيف الشمسي المفتوح. . تم تقدير الخواص عند محتوى رطوبة ثابت لثلاثة أصناف طازجة (نسمة ، ماسة ، 2020) من الطماطم عند 62.57 ، 68.58 ، 69.36٪ ديسيبل على التوالي. أظهرت النتائج أن متوسط قيمة الأبعاد المحورية ، المرتفع (H) ، القطر الأكبر (D max .) ، والقطر الأدنى (D min)..) من العينات كانت 73.98 و 69.26 و 61.03 ملم و 63.28 و 59.89 و 53.32 ملم ، و 70.99 و 53.86 و 49.60 ملم لأصناف ثمار الطماطم نسما وماسة و 2020 على التوالي. بلغ متوسط قيمة القطر الحسابي ، القطر الهندسي لثلاثة أصناف (نسمة ، ماسة ، 2020) للطماطم 69.26 و 58.76 و 58.11 و 67.69 و 58.52 و 57.33 على التوالي....

Enzymatic technology to improve oil extraction from Caryocar brasiliense camb. (Pequi) Pulp. 94

The present study aims to compare yield and quality of pequi pulp oil when applying two distinct processes: in the first, pulp drying in a tray dryer at 60ºC was combined with enzymatic treatment and pressing to oil extraction; in the second, a simple process was carried out by combining sun-drying pulp and pressing. In this study, raw pequi fruits were collected in Mato Grosso State, Brazil. The fruits were autoclaved at 121ºC and stored under refrigeration. An enzymatic extract with pectinase and CMCase activities was used for hydrolysis of pequi pulp, prior to oil extraction.
