This publication presents the systematics of monolete and trilete spores, and polyplicate, inaperturate and bisaccate pollen grains recovered from outcrops of the Cuayuca Formation, State of Puebla, southern Mexico. Species belonging to the following genera are described and illustrated: Cicatricosisporites, Deltoidospora, Foveotriletes, Leptolepidites, Lusatisporis, Retitriletes, Stereigranisporis, Verrucingulatisporites, Polypodiisporites, Pinuspollenites, Pityosporites, Ephedripites , and Cupressacites . Pteridophytes and bryophytes spores constitute 13.5% of the assemblages and gymnosperms 7.3%. Angiosperms, to be discussed on later papers, dominate the assemblage. |
