Los crustáceos peracáridos comprenden un diverso grupo de invertebrados, comunes en ambientes terrestres, acuáticos dulceacuícolas y marinos. En este trabajo se revisa la diversidad de especies de los órdenes Amphipoda, Cumacea, Isopoda, y Tanaidacea, actualmente reportada para Chile. Otros grupos taxonómicos comúnmente incluidos en Peracarida no han sido citados aún para Chile. Presentamos en este trabajo una lista sistemática de los taxa de peracáridos y su distribución geográfica en Chile desde los 18°S hasta los 56°S, incluyendo el Archipiélago de Juan Fernández e Isla de Pascua. En un análisis preliminar, la distribución de las especies registradas para Chile sugiere que la diversidad de especies aumenta de norte a sur. El hecho que aún existen... A new species and genus of Tanaidacea is described from the deep sea off Antarctica. Magotanais n. gen. resembles the genus Tanaella Norman & Stebbing, 1886 in its habitus. The biramous uropod, the form of the pars molaris, and the absence of coxae on the pereopods distinguishes it clearly from species belonging to the genus Tanaella. This genus is conformed by one species Magotanais pruinosus n. sp. The morphological stages of the Kalliapseudes schubarti Mañe-Garzon, 1949 females were easily determinated and they were similar, but the male stages show distint forms probably due to the ambient stimuli. The description of the male stages demonstrate that K. gianucai (Bacescu, 1979) is another male stage of K. schubarti, probably a secondary copulatory stage. The morphology and development of the ovary is related both with the maturity and with the morphological modifications of females stages. ABSTRACT The presence of parasitic crustaceans of the order Tantulocarida in the Caribbean Sea is reported for the first time. The organisms were found parasitizing a Cumacea of the genus Eudorellla and two Tanaidaceans of the genus Tanaella, between 2,420 and 2,786 m deep. The organisms came from the benthic community samplings made in Ocean Caribbean ecoregion (COC), in a hydrocarbon exploration area. The organisms were analyzed in the laboratory with an optical microscope and stereoscope; photographs were taken, and diagrams were made to describe the main morphological and morphometric characters. Studies were carried iut on seasonal mortality by taking samples of Kalliapseudes schubartii (Crustacea: Tanaidacea) for a year in the estuarine region of the Lagoa dos Patos (southern Brazil). Results demonstrated no significant difference in seasonal mortality rates, which suggest that populations of K. schubartii was heavily preyed on year round and that an assumption of a significantly higher mortality in summer/autumn than in spring/winter might not be held in unvegetated soft bottoms of the estuarine regions of the Lagoa dos Patos.
