Última Multivariate analysis of Morphological characters of Pipistrellus Pipistrellus (Schreber, 1774) and P. Nathusii (Keyserling & Blasius, 1839) (Mammalia: Chiroptera) from the Netherlands Naturalis Grol, B.P.F.E.. Within the Vespertilionidae the genus Pipistrellus Kaup, 1829 is characterized by the presence of a calcar lobe (epiblema) attached to the calcar bone, the presence of two upper premolars on each side and a forearm length smaller than 38 mm. Two representatives of this genus occur in The Netherlands: Pipistrellus pipistrellus (Schreber, 1774) and P. nathusii (Keyserling & Blasius, 1839). These two species probably are closely related and are difficult to distinguish. Many authors over the years have used different morphological, dental and skull characters to differentiate these species. Ano: 1985 URL: http://www.repository.naturalis.nl/record/317648 Over de eerste vondsten van twee Pennella-soorten (Crustacea: Copepoda) en van Conchoderma virgatum (Spengler) (Crustacea: Cirripedia) in Nederland Naturalis Huwae, P.H.M.. On 30 November 1941 a sunfish Mola mola (L.) was found on the beach near Schoorl (Province of Noord-Holland). The fish was parasitized by a specimen of Pennella filosa (L.) (Crustacea, Copepoda) on which a specimen of Conchoderma virgatum (Crustacea: Cirripedia) had attached itself. This is the first and so far only record of these two crustaceans for The Netherlands. Another species of the genus Pennella, P. crassicornis Steenstrup & Lütken, had been previously recorded from the Dutch coast (on Balaenoptera acutorostrata Lacépède); this record is also discussed here. The present distribution of bats (Chiroptera) in The Netherlands is documented and discussed. For each species a map is given illustrating the distribution before and after 1970. Where available, data are presented on migration, population trends, nursing colonies, roosts and hibernation sites, reproduction, and other data such as foraging behaviour, etc. Each chapter dealing with a particular species is followed by an English summary, to which the reader is referred for further information.
