Pattani Rice Research center is the main center of Rice Department for developing the rice seeds in 5 special provinces of the southern parts based on southern rice seed research project. The study that aimed to investigate areas and need of rice seeds of farmers found that 75 % of local rice seeds were needed by farmers. Two most desirable rice seeds delete in the southern parts that studied by Pattani Rice Research Center Were Seebukabntang Rice Seed (PTNC09001) and Hawm Kradang-Ngah Rice seed (PTNC09002-59). The 2 samples studied by Phathum Thani Rice Research Center in 2010 found that Seebukabntang Rice Seed had 135-140 days maturity 108 cm height clum straight plants, hard stems, 17 parnicles/hill 19.43 gm/1000 seeds, 28.51% amylose content. This activity was carried out during 2009 – 2012 under the project on research and development of upland rice for the upper Northeastern Thailand by KKN_RRC, CPA_RRC, SKN_RRC, UDN_RRC, NRM_RRC, NKI_RRC and UBN_RRC. Ten accessions of Pa-yah Leum Gaeng collected from farmers’ fields and 1,458 other upland rice accessions from the NRGB were evaluated for their adaptation and farmers acceptance on agronomic characteristics, grain quality and eating quality. The selected Pa-yah Leum Gaeng are glutinous upland rice with erected plant type, moderately strong stem and long-slender leaf with light green color. The internode color is yellow. The flowering date is about September 20th. The average number of panicles per hill is 9 – 10 while an average yield is 357...

การรวบรวมและประเมินลักษณะกลุ่มพันธุ์ข้าวเล้าแตก Thai Agricultural
Anuchat Kotchasatit; Uraiwan Kotchasatit; Kissana Sattayagul.
Lao Taek is a traditional glutinous rice variety being grown by farmers in the northeast and some parts in the north of Thailand. It becomes popular because of its ability to give high yield, which related to high number of grains per panicle and high number of panicles per hill. It is questionable that Lao Taek might have genetic diversity among different growing areas. Collection of 6 genetic stocks from Ubon Ratchathani, Yasothorn, Sakon Nakorn and Nan were conducted during 2008-2010. These stocks were evaluated for their agronomic characteristics and yield performances in comparison with 3 accessions from the National Rice Germplasm Bank in Ubon Ratchathani Rice Research Center (URRC) in 2012 wet season. The results showed that agronomic...
