Coral reefs are among the most diversified ecosystems; structured by comlexe processese. Yet, spatial organization of the diversity of reef fish communities is not well known. The present study, covering the Marine Protected Area of Pouebo (North-East of New Caledonia), takes part of the AMBIO project from IFREMER, which studies spatio-temporal variations of biodiversity by means of High-definition rotatif underwater video systems. In total 1717 individuals from 25 taxonomic families, 56 genus and 145 species were observed. The derived habitat typology of stations distinguishes five habitat classes, which seem to be highly significant for fish species richness and fish density. Results show that biodiversity increases close to the intermediate and the... |
