The Vertical structure of a Loop Current Eddy ArchiMer
Meunier, T.; Pallas-sanz, E.; Tenreiro, M.; Portela, E.; Ochoa, J.; Ruiz-angulo, A.; Cusi, S..
The vertical structure of a recently detached Loop Current Eddy (LCE) is studied using in‐situ data collected with an underwater glider from August to November 2016. Altimetry and Argo data are analysed to discuss the context of the eddy shedding and evolution as well as the origin and transformation of its thermohaline properties. the LCE appeared as a large body of nearly homogeneous water between 50 and 250 m confined between the seasonal and main thermoclines. A temperature anomaly relative to surrounding Gulf's water of up to 9.7 °C was observed within the eddy core. The salinity structure had a double core pattern. The subsurface fresh core had a negative anomaly of 0.27 psu while the deeper saline core's positive anomaly reached 1.22 psu. Both...

Analyse morpho-structurale et diversité floristique des îlots de forêt protegés dan la plaine côtiere du sud du Togo OceanDocs
Kokou, K.; Batawila, K.; Akoegninou, A.; Akpagana, K..
Vertical structure and floristic diversity of forest islands in the coastal plain of southern Togo have been studied. Eleven plant communities and five types of vertical structures could be described. Calculation of the Shannon indices shows that their floristic richness and diversity in the lower stratas (<7 m) are very important while highers (>I5 m) are floristically poor and less divers. Compared to other regional forests, the islands in the coastal plain of southern Togo are identical to those in the south of the Republic of Benin but are different from the forest types found west and east of the Dahomey gap

AGRICULTURAL POLICY IN A VERTICAL STRUCTURE OF PRODUCTION WITH AN APPLICATION TO THE MILK INDUSTRY AgEcon
Bouamra, Zohra; Requillart, Vincent.
This paper analyzes the effects of policy instruments used in the dairy sector. The analysis considers the supply of milk, the processing step characterized by joint production and the final demand for processed goods. A short term partial equilibrium model is defined. We use it to determine the effects of different policy scenarios on price, production, consumption and exports for the different products. Because the GATT agreements imply a decrease in the volume of subsidized exports, we particularly analyze the impact of policy instruments on the exports of different milk products.

Seedling density according to structure, dominance and understory cover in old-growth forest stands of the evergreen forest type in the coastal range of Chile RChHN
Donoso,Pablo J.; Nyland,Ralph D..
Securing timely regeneration is essential in maintaining the long-term ecological or silvicultural functions and values of forests. Its establishment, in turn, depends on many factors, including the structure and composition of the forest itself. Available information shows that seedling density varies greatly across the evergreen forest type in Chile. Yet stand variables that may affect the establishment of advance regeneration have not been studied. To that end, we evaluated seven stands of the coastal range, within the northern part of the evergreen forest type (39°14'-40°16' S). We documented understory cover, tree density and dominance, and stand structure, and used the information to assess their effects over seedling density. Findings indicate that...
