This study determined the fractionation of protein and carbohydrate of Piata palisadegrass ensiled with energetic meals. The experiment was developed at the Federal Institute of Goiás State, Rio Verde Campus, using a completely randomized design with four replications, in a 4 x 5 factorial arrangement, being four energetic meals (millet, corn, sorghum and wheat) and five levels of addition (0, 8, 16, 24 and 32%). The meals were obtained by grinding the grains, where the levels of addition were calculated based on natural material. Effect of enzyme addition on energy utilization and performance of broiler chickens fed wheat-based diet with different metabolizable energy levels Animal Sciences

An experiment was carried out to investigate the effect of multi-enzyme in high and low levels of metabolizable energy (13.81 and 11.51 MJ kg-1 diet) on performance and energy utilization of broilers fed wheat-soybean meal diets from 0 to 21 days of age. Result showed that birds fed diets containing 11.51 MJ kg-1 consumed significantly (p < 0.05) more feed than diets containing 13.81 MJ kg-1, whereas daily gain and feed conversion ratio improved (p < 0.05) when enzyme was added to 11.51 MJ kg-1 diet. Yield and water productivity influenced by conservation tillage and irrigation methods in wheat-maize cropping system CIGR Journal

Objective of this study was to evaluate the interaction effect of conservation tillage and irrigation methods on the soil properties, crop yield and water productivity in wheat-maize cropping system. A split plot experimental design with three replications was used to conduct this study in Fars province, Iran. Surface irrigation, drip tape irrigation, and sprinkler irrigation were considered as main plots, and no-tillage, reduced tillage, and conventional tillage were considered as sub plots. The objective of this study was to apply the precision metering on wheat seeding to overcome seed damage, seed loss and non-uniform distribution.  Accordingly, a prototype of the pneumatic precision metering device for wheat was developed.  The performance of the device, including quality of feed index (QFI), multiple index (MULI), miss index (MISI) and seed rate expressed in number of kernels per meter length (KPM), was investigated under laboratory conditions in Wuhan using a test stand with camera system.  The results revealed that the rotating speed (RS) and negative pressure (NP) and their interactions had a significant effect on these variables.  The maximum QFI (92.98%) was obtained at rotating speed of 19.0 rpm and negative pressures of 2.5 kPa...

An active role of systemic fungicides to curb wheat powdery mildew caused by Blumeria graminis f. sp. tritici CIGR Journal

Efficacy of five systemic fungicides (flusilazole, propiconazole, diniconazole, cyproconazole and tetraconazol) in curbing powdery mildew disease of wheat (Sakha93) and its impact on yield components were evaluated under field condition during two successive season. Both fungicides, propiconazole and diniconazole exhibited the highest value of efficacy (88.80% each) recording the lowest rate of disease infection (1 each). The contrast was noticed with tetraconazol (55.50% efficacy, 4 disease infection) with significant differences to untreated control during both seasons. Ascertaining of Ug99-race specific genes in wheat genotypes assigned to stem rust resistance based on phenotypic and genotypic reaction CIGR Journal

Five wheat genotypes including two commercial cultivars (Mist1 and Misr2) and three Ug99-race specific genes (Sr24, Sr25, and Sr31) were screened for stem rust resistance based on phenotypic and genotypic reaction. Based on phenotypic reaction, Sr24 (LcSr24Ag) and Sr31 (Seri-82) exhibited seeding and adult plant resistance while the wheat cultivars, Misr1 and Misr2 were susceptible.
