The Leyre incised valley shows a specific strata architecture related to its wave- and tide-dominated depositional environment. The low-stand systems tract has been totally eroded by the tidal ravinement surface and the valley is entirely filled by the transgressive systems tract. The Leyre and the Gironde incised valleys have been formed within the same depositional environment and the same stratigraphic framework.
