| Este trabalho tem por objetivo analisar as projeções do agronegócio no Brasil e no mundo para um conjunto selecionado de produtos, como soja, milho, arroz, feijão e mandioca, trigo, açúcar, etanol e carnes. As projeções se estendem até 2014?2015. O trabalho se baseia em informações e estudos de instituições nacionais e internacionais, servindo de base para as projeções dos produtos analisados. O trabalho mostra as grandes tendências que servem de orientação para o estudo das projeções do agronegócio. Essas tendências se referem ao crescimento econômico, à urbanização, ao envelhecimento das populações, à preocupação ambiental. | This article aims at analyzing the sugarcane culture in Brazil, showing the current agricultural and industrial development stage of the sugar-alcohol industry and how important this culture has become. | In this study, we investigated more particularly the sucrose synthase (Susy: EC2.4.1.13) at the biochemical and molecular levels during the development of coffee fruits. In addition, feeding experiments with 14C-sucrose and incubation of fruits with 14CO2 were carried out. Our results suggest that Susy is the main enzyme responsible for sucrose metabolism in coffee fruits. In the pulp and endosperm of fruits at the last stage of maturation, a peak of Susy activity was observed and correlates with an increase of sucrose. At the molecular level, we cloned two cDNAs encoding different Susy isoforms. | O presente trabalho apresenta uma visão prospectiva do agronegócio para os próximos 10 anos (2005?2006 a 2014?2015). Baseia-se em informações e estudos prospectivos de diversas instituições nacionais e internacionais. As taxas utilizadas para se fazer as projeções dos diversos produtos analisados partiram de referências dessas instituições e foram ajustadas por meio de observações específicas sobre cada produto. Foram analisados os seguintes produtos: trigo, soja, farelo de soja, óleo de soja, carne bovina, carne suína, carne de frango, açúcar, etanol, milho, feijão, mandioca, algodão e café.
