| Seit in der vorhergehenden Abhandlung das Vorkommen einer Kreideformation im südöstlichen Borneo festgestellt wurde, hat mich das Studium der in ihr enthaltenen Fauna noch weiter beschäftigt. Das Ergebniss ist im Folgenden niedergelegt. Der Erhaltungszustand der Versteinerungen war leider im Allgemeinen recht ungünstig, so dass die Untersuchung hiedurch nicht wenig erschwert wurde und fast die Hälfte der überlieferten Species überhaupt unbestimmt bleiben musste. In einzelnen Fällen liess sich zwar durch mühsame Praeparation mit Hilfe der Nadel noch etwas zur Erzielung brauchbarer Untersuchungsobjekte erreichen; doch meistens erwiesen sich auch in dieser Hinsicht die angestellten Versuche als nutzlos. |

| The two species made known in the present paper were collected at Tandjong Morawa, Serdang, in N. E. Sumatra by Dr. B. Hagen. The first of these is noteworthy on account of being the only Eastern species of the subfamily Mystropinæ as yet described, all the others being South American, with the exception of Mystrops dispar of Erichson, which is from Madagascar. Albata Felder, Sitzungs Berichte der Wien. Akad. XLIII (1861) 1, p. 42 n°. 100 et Novara Reise, II, 2, Lépidoptères, pl. 113 f. 4, d’Amboine, se distinguent par la grande tache blanche, non bleue comme chez la Manlia, qui occupe le centre du dessus des ailes postérieures. La troisième espèce, la Pot. Amboinensis Felder, Sitz. Ber. 1. c. p. 42 n°. 99, se rapproche plus de la Manlia mais se distingue cependant aisément, suivant Mr. Felder, par la ligne... |

| Pseudochirus is a well-defined genus of Phalangers, which, up to this time, embraced three species: cookii, bernsteinii and albertisii. Pseudochirus viverrinus Ogilby (1837), from Van Diemen’s Land, is regarded as specifically distinct from Ps. cookii Desmarest (1817), from the Australian Continent. They are also separated by Gould (Mammals of Australia, 1863), who stated that the island examples are of a larger size and always dressed in a softer and longer fur and who said, that for the present he regarded them as distinct. Gould remarked an analogical phenomenon in Trichosurus lemurinus or vulpinus from the Australian Continent and Trichosurus fuliginosus from Van Diemen’s Land. | Vor einer Reihe von Jahren (1856—57) entdeckte Everwijn am Seberoeang, linken Nebenflusse des Kapoeas, in der West-Abtheilung von Borneo, Schichten mit Versteinerungen, welche von ihm für Nummuliten gehalten wurden. Der Fundort befand sich am rechten Ufer, 4—5 Kilometer von der Mündung des Seberoeang entfernt und ist auch in die Karte eingetragen, welche der späteren Publikation Everwijn’s ¹) beigegeben wurde. Die Karte verzeichnet daselbst „mergeligen Kalkstein mit Nummuliten”. Später sammelte Schneider an diesem Orte, und die betreffenden Versteinerungen wurden durch v. | Die Beschreibung eines Stegodontenzahnes von Java in der vorhergehenden Abhandlung dieses Bandes ist die Veranlassung geworden, dass De Koninklijke Natuurkundige Vereeniging in Nederlandsch Indië eine grosse Sammlung fossiler Säugethierreste dem Geologischen Museum in Leiden übersandte. Es befinden sich darin vor allen Dingen Elephanten- und Walfischknochen in sehr grosser Zahl. Einen Theil der für eine Artbestimmung geeigneten Petrefakte machte ich zum Gegenstande einer Untersuchung, deren Resultate im Folgenden zusammengestellt sind. | In the Leyden Museum are some specimens of a bird from Timor, bearing the label « Orthotomus subulatus, Müll. Verh.», a name which I cannot find to have been published anywhere, and as far as I am aware the species has never been described under any other name. Generically this Wren comes very close to Pnoepyga, and has no rictal bristles and the front aspect of the tarsus entire.
