| Le poste de géologue de l'expédition faite au Spitsberg en 1906 par la Mission Isachsen sous les auspices de S. A. S. le Prince de Monaco fut occupé par M. l'ingénieur des mines H. H. Horneman, qui rapporta une riche suite d'échantillons de la région des roches primitives levée par l'expédition, et des parties avoisinantes de la région de l'Hecla Hoek. D'après le plan primitif, c'était M. Horneman lui-même qui devait publier ses observations géologiques accompagnées de plans sommaires; quant à la description pétrographique des séries d'échantillons, elle fut confiée à l'auteur. | This paper contains a description of the Lepidoptera, exclusive of the Tortricidae, Tineidae, Orneodidae, and Pterophoridae, of t he Seychelles Archipelago, and of the coral islands of Aldabra, Assumption, Cosmoledo and Astove, though the collections from the three latter islands are too small to be considered representative. The collections from the Seychelles were obtained very largely by Mr Hugh Scott, who spent eight months (July 1905-March 1909) in the group and devoted the whole time to entomological collecting. | Expédition de 1906 : A la Noël 1905 j'étais, au château de Marchais près de Reims, l'hôte de S. A. S. le Prince Albert de Monaco. Le Prince arrêta les plans de l'expédition qu' il désirait entreprendre au Spitsberg au cours de l'été suivant. Il fut décidé que je dirigerais une mission détachée de l'expédition Princière ayant pour but d'explorer l'intérieur encore inconnu de la partie nord-ouest du Spitsberg. Le nombre des membres de cette mission fut fixé à huit. | Last year Mr. P. Buitendijk had the good fortune to obtain again an example of Aestrelata aterrima (Bonaparte), caught aboard ship at night in the Indian Ocean (lat. 10°52'N., long 60°8' E.) at December 11th 1911. This is the second example presented by him to our collection (cf. Notes Leyden Mus. XXXIII, 1910—’11, p. 113). It is a female in worn plumage, moulting wing- and tailfeathers, and having no whitish feathers on the lores and on the head like the first specimen. Mr. Buitendijk has noted the colour of the light parts of the feet in the live bird dull white; that of iris and bill black. | Resembling as to shape Cr. brevipenne Rits. 1), likewise from Borneo, but the elytra are more convex seen sideways; differing by the less regular sculpture on the prothorax and elytra; the punctures or pits are less numerous and consequently their interstices broader; the punctures are deeper and their interstices raised, which gives an uneven aspect to the upper surface especially on the sides of the elytra where the interstices are confluent. Length of the males as well as of the females, measured from the anterior margin of the prothorax to the apex of the elytra, 8—11 mm. |

SCHIMMER geäusserte Vermutung 1), dass die von mir bei Prenolepis longicornis LATR. in Java (Djocjakarta) aufgefundene Gryllide zu der Art Myrmecophila americana SAUSS. (prenolepidis WASM.) gehöre, hat sich bei näherer Untersuchung als richtig herausgestellt. Genannter Herr schrieb mir darüber folgendes: „Die von Ihnen zur Bestimmung übersandte Art ist zweifellos Myrmecophila americana SAUSS., also keine neue Species. Sie weist alle typischen Merkmale der Stammart auf. Ich vermute, dass sie mit ihrer Wirtsameise, Prenolepis longicornis LATR., in Java eingewandert ist. Dieser Fund erweitert das Gebiet, in welchen M. americana vorkommt, denn sie wurde von GOELDI in Brasilien, von ASSMUTH in Indien gefunden. Ich habe 5 ♂ ♂... |

| Uppersurface of body black-gray; undersurface of head with palpi and of thorax pale yellow, that of abdomen white; legs yellow, tarsi brownish; antennae black above, white beneath, the tip pale brown; eyes brown. The base of the forewing is covered with a grayish brown dust; the top is equally black-brown with a narrow short orange-yellow slightly curved band, beginning at the centre of the costa (where the colour is more pure yellow) and followed by two transverse larger orangeyellow spots, of which the first is provided near the outer margin with a black-brown spot; the second is dissolved into two small orange-yellow spots. The colour of the undescribed triangular part of the forewing is yellowish white. |

| In the „Notes from the Leyden Museum”, Vol. XXXIV, pp. 25 — 30, I have given a list of Dermaptera collected in Java by Mr. EDW. Jacobson. Since then I received from him another collection from the same locality (preserved in the Leyden Museum), containing also a few specimens collected by Mr. MAC GILLAVRY at Baujuwangi (East-Java) and by Mr. de BUSSY at Deli (Sumatra). There are 29 species represented; none of these are new. |

| In addition to my first paper on this subject on page 55 of the present volume, I give here an enumeration of recoveries of birds, marked on account of the Leyden Museum in 1911 as well as in 1912. The number of the birds marked in 1912 is considerably surpassing that of them marked in 1911. I cannot give now the exact number of marked birds nor a complete list of the species, as many of our cooperators did not yet sent to me the filled-in schedules. |

SPAAN, Controleur von Gunung Tabur in Berouw, hat in den Jahren 1899 und 1901 den Kelei-Fluss, der bei Tandjong Redeb von Süden her in den Berouw-Fluss sich ergiesst, etwa 200 Kilometer weit bis zur Einmündung des Ktong befahren und während dieser Reise eine Sammlung von Handstücken angelegt, die mir Herr Professor MARTIN zur Bestimmung übersandte. Es sind tertiäre Kalksteine sowie Thonschiefer und Grauwackenartige Sedimente von älterem Aussehen, aber ohne Einschluss charakteristischer Fossilien, so dass eine sichere Altersbestimmung auf Grund der vorliegenden Proben nicht möglich ist.
