Holocene coastal changes and infilling of the La Perroche marsh (French Atlantic coast) ArchiMer
Clave, B; Masse, L; Carbonel, P; Tastet, Jp.
The La Perroche marsh is a small Holocene marsh on the south-western coast of the Oleron island (Bay of Biscay, France) presently occupied by a freshwater swamp and separated from the ocean by a continuous sand dune ridge. The study of its infill shows first basal conglomeratic deposits with calcareous pebbles on a Cenomanian rough substrate. The Holocene infill since 6000 years BP begins with a very fast sedimentation of sands. Then, the sedimentation becomes finer, with lagoonal to freshwater influences recorded by ostracods. The distribution of these deposits inside the marsh is asymmetric, with a thick sandy-gravely layer in the eastern part and a succession of sands, clays and organic layers in the western part. Communication with the sea is episodic,...

Impact de la trangression holocene sur la sedimentation dans le detroit de Makassar (Indonesie) ArchiMer
Gayet, J; Carbonel, P; Duprat, J; Labeyrie, L; Faugeres, J-c; Gonthier, E; Moyes, J.
Biomarker data associated with isotopic curve partial differential super(18)O served to establish a stratigraphic scale and thereby a chronology of fluctuations in the circulation and sedimentation of the Kalimantan continental rise throughout the last climatic cycle. During the glacial maximum, period of low sea-level sediments were deposited by turbidity currents originating from Kalimantan. During deglaciation, during rise of the sea-level and more particularly in the Holocene, material issued from Kalimantan either contributed to the building of the Mahakam delta or was dispersed over the shelf. Sulawesi inputs, less abundant and mineralogically different from Kalimantan material, were observed onto the Kalimantan rise. During this same period,...

Les variations architecturales des microfaunes du Lac de Tunis: relations avec l'environnement ArchiMer
Carbonel, P; Pujos, M.
The bentonic microfauna of ostracodas and foraminiferas of Tunis lake is controlled for a reduced number of species (always the same), which are representative of a very isolated habitat type of the marine environment. The characteristic species (Cyprideis gr. Torosa and Ammonia gr. beccarii ) have a variable morphology; each of them presents three ecotypes which are the reflections of the water hydrochemical conditions (salt concentrations, ionic balance, dissolved oxygen). The observed specific variability in these organisms allows one to perceive the environment variations which cannot be discerned from a classical microfaunas approach.
