Cheironchus paravorax n. sp. and Cheironchus vorax Cobb, 1917 from the Campeche Sound, an oil producing zone in the Gulf of Mexico (Nemata: Selachinematidae) OMA
Castillo-Fernandez, D.; Decraemer, W..
A new species Cheironchus paravorax n. sp. is described from the oil producing zone of Campeche Sound in the Gulf of Mexico. It closely resembles C. vorax Cobb, 1917 but differs by its more slender habitus, different tail shape with blister, shorter and slightly stouter spicules and finer buccal armature. SEM studies provide additional information on the body cuticle, the head region and buccal armature, and in male on the precloacal supplements and gubernaculum. C. vorax Cobb, 1917 is redescribed based on specimens from the Gulf of Mexico.

Marine nematodes from Guadeloupe: IX. The genus Metepsilonema (Epsilonematidae) OMA
Decraemer, W.; Gourbault, N..
Three new species of the genus Metepsilonema Steiner are described from the Guadeloupe littoral marine interstitial habitats. M. magdae sp. n. is significantly characterised by the pearl-like ornamentation of the distal edge of the posterior annules and by the shape and sexual dimorphism of the amphids. M. clasingae sp. n. displays a noteworthy cuticular ornamentation with long posterior subdorsal spines, far more pronounced in juveniles. In M. glutinosum sp. n. the ambulatory setae are glued together, even in juveniles. M. bermudae Lorenzen described from Bermuda and reported from Galápagos, has been collected rather frequently in Lesser Antillae.

Meyliidae (Nematoda-Desmoscolecoidea) with four new species and two new genera OMA
Decraemer, W.; Jensen, P..
Seven Meyliidae-species are described, four of them are new: Boucherius spinosus (Gerlach, 1956) comb.n., B. floridanus sp. n., Gerlachius lissus (Gerlach, 1956) Andrassy, 1976, Meylia alata Gerlach, 1956, M. vangoethemi sp. n., Noffsingeria omeri gen.n., sp.n. and N. grandiamphis sp.n. The different types of ornamentations of the body cuticle are considered significant features, separating the seven species in four genera, two of which were already described: Meylia Gerlach, 1956 and Gerlachius Andrassy,1976 and two new genera: Boucherius gen.n. and...

On the deep-sea desmoscolecid fauna of the flat of Cap Vert (Nematoda: Desmoscolecida) OMA
Decraemer, W..
The deep-sea bottom samples from the flat of Cap Vert, tropical Atlantic Ocean, collected during the EUMELI cruises, contain eight demoscolecid species, six of them belong to the subgenus Quadricoma. The dominant species Tricoma (Quadricoma) maxima is rediscribed including SEM information on the head region. A new species Tricoma (Quadricoma) magnafenestra sp. nov. is characterised by a relative long body with 44 main rings, an end ring with large pores or phasmata and spike-like spinneret, a broad head with truncated anterior end with labial rim, males with 55µm long spicules. Additional information is given on T. (Q.) loricata. The taxonomic status of T. (Q.)...

Revision of Bathyepsilonema species from Antarctica described by Steiner (1931) (Nemata: Epsilonematidae) OMA
Decraemer, W.; Noffsinger, E.M..
A revision was made of the Bathyepsilonema species from the German South Polar Expedition of 1901-1903 described by Steiner's collection. Two species were identified: Bathyepsilonema drygalskii Steiner, 1931 and B. brachycephalum Steiner, 1931. B. brachycephalum is re-established as a valid species, characterized by a far anterior position of the amphideal fovea, 99-101 body annules and 42-51 µm long spicules. Both species were also found among material from the U.S. Antarctic Research Program 1969-1970, and are redescribed.

The diversity of nematode communities in the southern North Sea OMA
Heip, C.H.R.; Decraemer, W..
The diversity of nematode communities along the Belgian coast is influenced by the median grain size and the percentage of silt of the sediment, as H = 0.84 +10. 96Md -0.013S. The influence of the outlet of a small stream, the IJzer, is also clearly visible in the low diversity of communities situated to the north-east of the mouth, which is the direction of the prevailing currents. The predominating species in low-diversity communities appear to be generalists, while high specialization seems to be the rule for nematode communities as a whole.
