ABSTRACT: The arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in the soil may establish an association with plant roots (mycorrhiza) which benefits the nutrient absorption by the plants and increase the effects of the applied inputs on plant growth. Then, to make profit of this association, it is recommended to increase and diversity fungi in the soil, mainly in those where its population is generally low, as in the cerrado soil. The crop rotation is an agronomic practice that improves the propagation of the arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in the soil and stimulates mycorrhiza establishment and its effects in plant growth. An adequate rotational sequence to improve formation impplies in the use of mycorrhizal dependent cultures. A table, indicating the percentage of mycorrhizal... |

O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar o desenvolvimento inicial de Myrsine guianensis Aubl. (azeitona-do-mato) e Diospyros sericea A. DC. |

ABSTRACT: The Cerrado soils are acid with toxic levels of aluminum, being necessary to use lime to overcome these conditions to grow crops. The residual effect of lime in a Red Latosol were evaluated for corn at the 5th and 6th crop, under conventional tillage (disk plowing and harrowing) and no-tillage planting systems. Lime at different levels was previously applied for the first crop, with and without incorporation into the soil. The results showed a significant increase in corn grain production due to the residual effects of lime levels, either incorporated, surface applied with no incorporation, or a mixing of both methods. After six years of cropping, the surface applied lime with no incorporation changed the soil conditions mainly at the 0 cm - 10... |

ABSTRACT: The no-till and conventional cropping systems, which involve low and high soil disturbance, could affect the number and nature of native arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi species in the soil. These, on the other hand, determine the contribution of arbuscular mycorrhiza on crop responses to used inputs and on the efficiency of the planting system itself, as they have different efficiency levels towards the same host plant. Though, the same total number of species and the same species themselves of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi, were observed in the no-till and conventional cropping systems. Nevertheless, the no-till system practice is recommended, as the mycorrhizal external mycelium, developed during the former cropping, is preserved and stimulates the... |
