Clamp connections at the cheilocystidia in Mycena are invariably correlated with their presence in other elements of hymenium and subhymenium. In some species of the genus clamped cheilocystidia occur in both the four- and two-spored forms; in others, the cheilocystidia are clampless in the two-spored form. Two of the sections examined are shown to comprise species with clamped and species with clampless cheilocystidia, suggesting that the presence of clamps at the cheilocystidia is a character of specific rather than sectional importance. Two examples are given to illustrate the value of clamps at cheilocystidia as a distinguishing character Mycena jacobi and M. niveipes, long regarded as being identical, are here considered to represent two separate... |

The genus Tulostoma as occurring in the Netherlands is represented by T. brumale, T. melanocyclum, and T. fimbriatum. Practically all finds have been reported from the calciferous sands of the coastal area. A fourth species — T. squamosum — may be expected to occur in the extreme southeastern part of the country. A key to the species is given together with brief macroscopic descriptions which should help in the identification. Tulostoma melanocyclum, thus far unrecorded for the Netherlands, seems to be the commoner species. |

In this paper, again, three new species of section Fragilipedes are described, Mycena olivaceoflava, M. rubidofusca and M. vicina. Mycena hepatica is a new species of section Rubromarginatae. The circumscription of section Insignes is slightly altered, as a result of which Mycena quinaultensis, M. conspersa, M. mitis and M. corrugans are transferred to section Fragilipedes. |

A revision of the genera Geoglossum, Microglossum, and Trichoglossum as represented by collections made in West Pakistan, India, Nepal, Sikkim, and Tibet is given. Several species from this area are recorded for the first time. Geoglossum glabrum, albeit not indigenous, is discussed and shown to be a nomen dubium; the name as used in the sense of Nannfeldt is replaced by G. sphagnophilum. The name Geoglossum nigritum is a misapplication, so that for it G. umbratile is re-introduced. Geoglossum umbratile var. heterosporum is a new combination. |

In 1949 a trip was made to Kenya Colony, British East Africa, with the aim of collecting Phanerogamic plants and Ferns. The intention was to collect 12 sets of each number which I managed to do for about 70 %. Except for the first set which will be incorporated in the Rijksherbarium, the plants will be sold to those institutes in Europe, S. Africa and America which had subscribed in advance. It is expected, however, that a few more sets in excess of the 12 aforementioned will be available. It should be noted that these will prove rather incomplete, numbering less than 30 % of the total amount. |
