Comparative behaviour of goat β and αs1-caseins at the air-water interface and in solution Inra
Beaufils, S.; Hadaoui-Hammoutène, R.; Vié, V.; Miranda, G.; Perez, J; Terriac, E.; Henry, G.; Delage, M.M.; Léonil, J.; Martin, P.; Renault, A..
Here we present a comparative study of caprine b- and as1-caseins behaviours at the air–water interface and in solution. Both caseinswere purified from the milk of a single goat homozygous at the as1- and b-Cn loci, with a high degree of purity (98%). Physicalmeasurements (ellipsometry, surface pressure and surface rheology) were performed at the air–water interface, whereas SAXSmeasurements were performed on casein solutions. Our results clearly show that self-organizations, both at the air–water interface and insolution are different for b- and as1-caseins. b-casein is unfolded in solution and forms a network at the interface, while as1-casein formscompact objects in solution and is organised in fluid domains at the interface. We also show that the...

Du gene au fromage: le polymorphisme de la caseine alphas1 caprine, ses effets, son evolution Inra
Grosclaude, F.; Ricordeau, G.; Martin, P.; Remeuf, F.; Vassal, L.; Bouillon, J..

Moazami-Goudarzi, K.; Vaiman, D.; Mercier, D.; Grohs, C.; Furet, J.P.; Leveziel, H.; Martin, P..

Foresight on land use evolution using a coherent set of possible future land use change scenarios Inra
Ronfort, C.; Sebillotte, C.; Meynard, J.M.; Souchere, V.; Martin, P..
Changes in agricultural land use play a role in erosion and runoff evideneet in Upper Normandy, France Foresight methodology is a means to shape this role.We applied the SYSPAHMM (SYSTEM, Processus, Clusters of Hypotheses,Micro-scenarios) foresight methodology, at the local scale (Seine-Maritime), France and involving diverse actors in agriculture. Ites a three-step methodology with a 2015 time horizon. First, the system is graphically represented to describe its current functioning. Secondly, a set of hypotheses of future evolution is elaborated involving all factors potentially influencing land use. Thirdly, relation ships between the hypotheses are analysed to provide a coherent set of possible futures. A group of hypotheses leads to scenarios, a tool...

Maintaining RNA integrity in a homogeneous population of mammary epithelial cells isolated by Laser Capture Microdissection Inra
Bevilacqua, C.; Makhzami, S.; Helbling, J.C.; Defrenaix, P.; Martin, P..
Background: Laser-capture microdissection (LCM) that enables the isolation of specific cell populations fromcomplex tissues under morphological control is increasingly used for subsequent gene expression studies in cellbiology by methods such as real-time quantitative PCR (qPCR), microarrays and most recently by RNA-sequencing.Challenges are i) to select precisely and efficiently cells of interest and ii) to maintain RNA integrity. The mammarygland which is a complex and heterogeneous tissue, consists of multiple cell types, changing in relative proportionduring its development and thus hampering gene expression profiling comparison on whole tissue betweenphysiological stages. During lactation, mammary epithelial cells (MEC) are predominant. However...

Sediment concentration in interrill flow: interactions between soil surface conditions, vegetation and rainfall Inra
Cerdan, O.; Le Bissonnais, Y.; Souchère, V.; Martin, P.; Lecomte, V..
A database composed of 673 natural rainfall events with sediment concentration measurements at the field or plot scale was analysed. Measurements were conducted on similar soil type (loess soils prone to scaling phenomenon) to apprehend the variability and complexity involved in interrill erosion processes attributable to soil surface conditions. The effects of the dominant controlling factors are not described by means of equations; rather, we established a classification of potential sediment concentration domain according to combination of the dominant parameters. Thereby, significant differences and evolution trends of mean sediment concentration between the different parameter categories are identified. Further, when parameter influences interact, it...

Similarity of technical logics of cropping systems organization between conventional and recently converted organic farmers in a water catchment area Organic Eprints
Gratecap, J.B.; Wezel, A.; Casagrande, Marion; Martin, P..
Organic farming is considered as a solution to preserve water quality in drinking water catchments. For local managers of these catchments it is thus important to identify conventional farmers for potential conversion to organic farming. The aim of this article is to assess technical similarity of conventional farmers concerned by a water catchment to organic farming. We build a typology of farmers based on technical logics related to cropping systems organization. We differentiated five types of farmers among 18 conventional dairy farmers and three recently converted organic farmers. According to our results, only two farmers can be considered as close to technical logics identified in organic farms. Nevertheless, we could identify partial technical...
