| Consumption of marine organisms represents one of the main exposure sources of contaminants for human populations. To obtain a global view of the contamination in commercial fish in the NW Mediterranean Sea, we analysed four types of priority contaminants (PCBs, PBDEs, Hg and Cs-137) in the European hake, Merluccius merluccius, from the Gulf of Lions in relation with organism's trophic level (delta N-15). All contaminants presented a significant increase in concentration in hake muscle with trophic level. However, obvious differences between contaminants were evidenced. Biomagnification factors (BMF and FWMF) along the hake food web were higher for Hg and CB-153 than for BDE-47 and Cs-137, and increase in contaminant concentration with trophic level... |

| Cette étude présente les espèces et les peuplements de petits poissons pélagiques rencontrés au sein du golfe du Lion, ainsi que les espèces d’oiseaux marins qui y sont associées. Les données ont été collectées durant les campagnes à la mer PELMED (été) et JUVALION (hiver) de 1994 à 2010. Tout au long des différents chapitres, les analyses suivent un plan montrant successivement, pour les petits poissons pélagiques comme pour les oiseaux marins, les proportions relatives des différents groupes d’espèces composant chacun des peuplements étudiés puis, au sein de chacun de ces groupes, les distributions relatives de chacune des espèces observées. | An end-to-end model named OSMOSE-GoL has been built for the Gulf of Lions, the main French Mediterranean fishing area. This spatialized dynamic model links the coupled hydrodynamic and biogeochemical model Eco3M-S/SYMPHONIE (LTL – low trophic level model) to OSMOSE (HTL – high trophic level model). | Cod (Gadus morhua, L.), whiting (Merlangius merlangus, L.), saithe (Pollachius virens, L.), haddock (Melanogrammus aeglefinus, L.), sole (Solea vulgaris, L.) and plaice (Pleuronectes platessa, L.) make up the main demersal stocks under quota which concern the French fishery in North Sea and Eastern English Channel. | Ce second rapport d'étape fait le point sur le travail engagé depuis la réunion d'ouverture du 18 mai 1998. En premier lieu, il rappelle les principales observations et conclusions des deux premières réunions de travail. Il présente ensuite les principaux enseignements tirés de la récente mission du groupe de travail, centrée sur les Pertuis charentais. | The European hake, Merluccius merluccius, is an important resource for Mediterranean fisheries. This study focuses on juvenile and adult hake feeding ecology in the Gulf of Lions, using information from scientific surveys carried out during two seasons and three years (2004-2006). Stomach content and stable isotope (ä15N, ä13C) analyses were performed, and the main factors explaining variations in ä15N were investigated using GLMs. In the Gulf of Lions, hake mostly fed on crustaceans and fish and a dominant piscivorous regime was reached at 15 cm total length.
