| Estudaram-se possíveis alterações hemodinâmicas e intracranianas em cães submetidos à hemorragia aguda e anestesiados pelo isofluorano. Verificou-se também a influência do anestésico no mecanismo de auto-regulação cerebral. Utilizaram-se 20 cães adultos que foram induzidos à anestesia geral com isofluorano por máscara naso-oral a 3,5V% (volume %). Após a intubação orotraqueal, reajustou-se o vaporizador para 2,1V%. Induziu-se a hipovolemia retirando-se volume total de 35ml/kg de sangue. | Caracterizaram-se, por meio da ultrassonografia, as estruturas flexoras da porção distal dos membros de bovinos utilizando-se peças anatômicas da porção distal dos membros torácicos e pélvicos, provenientes de 20 novilhas mestiças da raça Nelore, com idades entre 24 e 36 meses. Para análise ultrassonográfica, foram estabelecidas cinco zonas de avaliação no plano transversal, denominadas, respectivamente, de zonas A, B, C, D e E, e duas em plano sagital, F-III e F-IV. | Avaliou-se o comportamento do cimento de aluminato de cálcio em defeitos ósseos induzidos experimentalmente em fêmur de 12 coelhos Nova Zelândia Branco, distribuídos em três grupos experimentais, correspondentes aos tempos de observação pós-operatória de 15 (G15), 30 (G30) e 60 (G60) dias. Realizaram-se avaliações clínico-cirúrgicas, radiográficas e histológicas, a fim de se observar o potencial osteoindutor e osteocondutor do biomaterial no defeito ósseo, e se houve osteointegração. O cimento de aluminato de cálcio, na formulação utilizada, mostrou-se biocompatível, porém não atuou como osteocondutor ou osteoindutor. |

| RESUMO A enxertia cutânea é uma técnica cirúrgica simples e bastante útil para o reparo de feridas, principalmente aquelas onde existe dificuldade da aplicação do fechamento primário ou de outras técnicas reconstrutivas. Entretanto, para a sobrevivência do enxerto, é necessário que o leito da ferida esteja saudável e com presença de tecido de granulação exuberante. O objetivo do presente trabalho foi avaliar a aplicação da membrana amniótica e da laserterapia como potenciais estimulantes da cicatrização em enxertos aplicados em feridas sem tecido de granulação. | RESUMO Avanços na compreensão da biologia óssea e das complicações das fraturas têm levado a modificações na abordagem da fixação interna, sendo a osteossíntese minimamente invasiva com placa (Mipo) uma das recentes evoluções para o manejo biológico das fraturas. O objetivo do presente estudo foi avaliar o uso de placas bloqueadas aplicadas de forma minimante invasivas em fraturas da tíbia de cães, sem a utilização de intensificadores de imagem intraoperatória. | ABSTRACT The aim of this report was to describe the clinical findings and therapeutic management of a case of papillary adenocarcinoma of the descending colon in a Beagle. The patient presented soft stools, haematochezia, tenesmus, and dyschezia. Clinical examination revealed alterations on the ultrasonographic features of the descending colon suggestive of colitis and neoplasia. Following local mass resection, histopathology analysis revealed mild lymphoplasmocytic enteritis and papillary adenocarcinoma of the colon. | ABSTRACT This study aims to report the technique of partial cystectomy and bilateral ureteral reimplantation for resection of transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) in the trigone region of the bladder and the long-term follow-up in a Bernesse Mountain dog. The proposed surgical technique was considered viable and a potential treatment option for TCC in bladder trigone, with benefits regarding the prevention of urinary tract obstruction due to neoplastic growth and local removal of the primary tumor, which may limit or delay the spread of the disease even without adjuvant chemotherapy. | ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to evaluate of the efficacy of PRP employment associated with surgical sponges to improve the integration of the graft in the recipient bed. | ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to develop a locked tibial-plateau-leveling osteotomy (TPLO) plate and to compare this implant with the conventional bone fixation method using a locked plate to determine bone stabilization against torsion forces. Maximum force, angle at peak torque, and stiffness values were determined. Ten synthetic tibias were used, divided into 2 groups. The results in Group 1 (modified TPLO plate) and Group 2 (locked plate) were assessed using analysis of variance and the means were compared using Tukey’s test at 5% probability.
