Population abundance of pink mealybug, Phenacoccus manihoti on four cassava varieties Thai Agricultural
Pheophanh Soysouvanh; Nutcharee Siri.
Four cassava varieties, Kasetsart 50, Huay Bong 60, Rayong 9 and Rayong 72 were observed for mealybug in a survey that was conducted in Kalasin Province, Khon Kaen province and Udon Thani Province from November 2011 to September 2012. The infestation of pink mealybug was counted in five levels, 0 level 0 mealybug, 1st level (1-9), 2nd level (10-99), 3rd level (100-999) and 4th level (≥1,000). On the other hand, leaf curl level was categorized into five scores as follows; margin declined slightly was categorized at normal was categorized at level 0, margin declined slightly at level 1, shoot stunted at level 2, shoot distorted at level 3 and leaves fall at level 4. Rayong 72 variety showed the highest population of mealybug at 25.5% (MbL1) and 22.5 % (MbL2)...

Thai Agricultural
Tasanee Jamjanya; Nutcharee Siri; Yuwarat Boonkaseam; Kanjana Khaeso.
The study of integrated pest management was performed in two farmers’ marigold field namely Ms. Liab and Ms Somchom at Muang district, Khon Kaen province. Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) was used with three treatments and four replications. T1- farmers’ practice, T2- control (no application of any insecticide and fungicide) and T3- integrated pest management (using trichoderma and released the predator, Sycanus sp.). In Ms. Liab’s plots, neem extract was applied to control insect pest. The result showed the least flower damage (1.81 percent); the highest number of flowers (44,596) and profit of 25,383.4 Baht/rai in T3 which significant difference with T1. The T1 obtained the least number of flowers (35,131.6) and profit of 16,288.5 Baht/rai....

Thai Agricultural
Anothai Wingsanoi; Nutcharee Siri.
Infestation of chili fruit fly, Bactrocera latifrons was investigated on 3 chili species, 8 commercial varieties (CV); Capsicum annuum L., (CV Yuyi 80, Num Khao Donyang, Yodson Khem 80, Num Keowtong 80, KKU-P31115 and Jindanil 80), Capsicum frutesence L., (CV Kee Noo Hom KKU 40) and Capsicum baccatum L., (CV KKU-P33032) at the National Biological Control Research Center, Khon Kaen University during March to June 2009. The percent damage in C. annuum was higher than C. frutesence and C. baccatum. The highest numbers of fruit fly were found in CV Num Khao Donyang variety, (21.25 pupae/fruit), follow by CV Yuyi 80 (20 pupae/fruit). However, Yuyi 80 showed the highest damage (43.04 %). The infestation was found during fruiting to harvestingstage with all fruit...

Thai Agricultural
Tipawan Susri; Ubon Tangkawanit; Nutcharee Siri; Siripa Kaewkamsan.
The study was to investigate the efficiency of pupal parasitoid released in cattle farm studied in two farms in Saard district amphoe Nampong, Khon Kaen Province, during October 2011 to September 2012. Pupal parasitoids here released two times in one farm in April 2012. Another farm was not released. Fly populations were evaluated every two weeks from blue sticky trap and direct count on cattle. The percentage of parasitisim was also observed. The results showed that the trend of the decreasing number of fly on the sticky trap and cattle (32.42 and 27.11% respectively) compare with the control farm. Additionally, the percentage of parasitism in released farm was increase 1.25%, while the percentage of parasitism in control farm was changed

Thai Agricultural
Sirilak Lankaew; Nutcharee Siri.
The efficacy of Stethorus indira Kapur feeding on three mite species, mulberry red mite; Tetranychus truncatus Ehara, two spotted spider mite; Tetranychus urticae Koch and african red mite; Eutetranychus africanus Tucker were conducted under laboratory condition. The results showed that the 4th stage larva S. indira was able to consume African red mite more than adult stage. The 4th stage larva consumed eggs and nymphs of 148.85 eggs and 49.75 nymphs per day. The adult stage consumed 146.85 eggs and 49.35 nymphs per day followed by two spotted spider mite but not significantly to mulberry red mite. The biological characteristic of S. indira Kapur feeding on african red mite was higher than mulberry red mite and there were the survival rate, sex ratio,...

Thai Agricultural
Sirilak Lankaew; Nutcharee Siri.
Dominant predator of Tetranychus sp. were Stethorus siphonulus Kapur and Stethorus pauperculus (Weise) while Stethorus indira Kapur was dominant predator of Eutetranychus africanus Tucker. The Stethorus spp. 3 species had characteristic different in egg to pupa stages but similary at adult stages. S. siphonulus had the largest size, followed by S. indira and S. pauperculus. The development period from egg to adult stage of S. pauperculus, S. siphonulus and S. indira was 16.35 days, 12.60 days, and 14.75 days, respectively. Preference test of the predatory beetles on egg of three spider mite species showed that S. siphonulus destroy eggs of Mulberry red mite, Tetranychus truncatus Ehara, S. pauperculus destroy eggs of Two spot spider mite, Tetranychus...

Trichogramma spp. Thai Agricultural
Winipa Chaleecan; Nutcharee Siri.
The parasitoid, Trichogramma spp. was produced using the rice moth eggs Corcyra cephalonica as host. Thus, the study of storage methods was done for the right timing of the parasitoid application during the pest out break. Various storage methods were studied by comparing different set of packed eggs in tissue paper and fire mesh, and unpacked eggs. The eggs were then stored at 5±2°C and 7±2°C for 1-4 weeks. The interaction between temperatures and packing methods resulted in the reduction of egg weight. At 5±2°C reduced fewer egg weight and more larval emergence than that at 7±2°C. Additional emergences were found more in packing eggs with tissue paper than fine mesh and unpacked. The one week storage eggs at both temperatures showed more than 80%...
