| A Integração Lavoura-Pecuária é uma ótima estratégia para suprir a alimentação animal em períodos de seca, pois, além de produzir uma silagem de qualidade e estabelecer uma pastagem vigorosa, permite a formação de cobertura do solo para plantio direto subsequente. O sorgo forrageiro é uma alternativa viável nesse sistema, pois é tolerante ao déficit hídrico e adaptado a condições limitantes para o cultivo do milho. Todavia, a estiagem prolongada pode comprometer a produção e, por isso, o emprego da irrigação subótima constitui-se estratégia para incrementar a eficiência e uso da água sem perdas significativas de rendimento. | Nos últimos anos houve uma notável expansão das áreas de cultivo sob solos arenosos, principalmente nos Estados de Maranhão, Tocantins, Piauí e Bahia, Estados estes que compõem a nova fronteira agrícola no Brasil (Brasil, 2018). Isso foi possível, em partes, pela evolução das práticas de manejo, como o plantio direto (PD) e Integração Lavoura-Pecuária-Floresta (ILPF), que favorecem a maior produção e manutenção da matéria orgânica no solo, propiciando maior disponibilidade de nutrientes e água (Balbino et al., 2012; Gil et al., 2016). | Sorghum [Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench] biomass hybrids with high productivity and enhanced levels of lignin are seen as a promising alternative of feedstock for direct burning in ovens designed for cogeneration of electricity. The objective of this study was to estimate the genetic combing capacity of biomass sorghum lines and conduct multivariable selection of photosensitive biomass sorghum hybrids for use in cogeneration. | The objective of this study is to evaluate how the distance between the corn planting rows intercropped with Urochloa cultivars and the tree stand line (eucalyptus) affects grain bulk density and percentage of damaged grains. The treatments consisted of the corn in two cropping systems, i.e., between eucalyptus stands (integrated crop-livestock-forestry-ICLF) and in full sun intercropped with the Urochloa, in the planting line three years after the establishment of eucalyptus trees (2013/2014 harvest).
