| Avaliou-se a eficácia de um complexo homeopático e uma zeólita clinoptilolita na prevenção de diarreia em bezerros leiteiros. Trinta e sete bezerros foram distribuídos em três grupos: Controle negativo, Zeólita e Homeopatia. A composição da zeólita foi verificada por espectrometria de emissão óptica (ICP OES). Todos receberam tratamento alopático em caso de ocorrência de diarreia. As fezes foram avaliadas diariamente para observar a cor, o odor e a consistência. Os animais foram pesados e avaliados quanto à hidratação (teste de turgor cutâneo) semanalmente. O sangue foi coletado a cada duas semanas para aferição do volume globular e da proteína sérica total. | This study was designed to assess the effects of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) administration 7.5 days after the end of synchronous estrus induction protocol in Morada Nova ewes in the non?breeding season on biometrics and vascularization of the luteal tissue, progesterone (P4) concentrations and reproductive performance. Morada Nova ewes (n=113) were submitted to synchronous estrus induction, during October and November, with 60 mg medroxyprogesterone intravaginal sponge for sex days plus 200 IU of eCG i.m. and 30 ?g of d?cloprostenol i.m. 36 h before sponge removal. |

| Objetivou-se verificar as diferenças de parâmetros seminais de animais das raças Dorper (D), Texel (T), Ile de France (I), Santa Inês (S) e seus cruzamentos (½ D+½S, ½I+½S e ½T+½S), criados na região Sudeste do Brasil. Foram avaliadas as características: perímetro escrotal à puberdade, volume do ejaculado, motilidade individual progressiva, vigor, concentração do sêmen, defeitos maiores, defeitos menores e defeitos totais. Foram feitas as análises de variância para comparação entre os grupos genéticos e testados os efeitos de peso, idade à puberdade e perímetro escrotal, como covariáveis no modelo. | Abstract: Oxytocin has been used to promote cervical dilation with the objective to access uterus both in artificial insemination and transcervical embryo recovery in sheep and goats. The objective of this study was to test the effect of two routes of oxytocin administration on nonsurgical embryo recovery efficiency in Santa Inês ewes after induction of synchronous estrus. | Abstract: Transcervical transposition in sheep cannot be achieved without any cervical relaxation drug (Gusmão et al., 2007, RevBrasSaúdeProdAn, 8:1-10). The first step testing the viability of cervical relaxation protocol for transcervical embryo transfer in sheep is to check the effect of these drugs on pregnancy. Although combination of estradiol benzoate and oxytocin did not compromise pregnancy establishment, no attempts of cervical transposition was reported in sheep (Lewis, 2010. SheepGoatResJ, 25:21-25). | The aim of the present study was to evaluate pregnancy rates and reproductive characteristics of three different lineages: Antiga (A), Nova (N) and Cruzada (C) of Canchim bulls. The bulls (n=27; 52.0±2.7 months; 674.7±18.6 kg) were kept on pasture, from 2014 to 2017, comprising the breeding seasons. Prior to entry in the breeding season, the bulls underwent breeding soundness evaluation. Bulls were annually challenged to mount an average of 40 Canchim cows (n=990). In order to evaluate the pregnancy rate, the cows were submitted to transrectal ultrasonography at the end of the season.
