Effectiveness of Diquat, Copper Hydroxide, Copper Oxychloride and their Association in Control of Submerged Macrophytes Ceratophyllum demersum Planta Daninha
GARLICH,N.; CRUZ,C.; SILVA,A.F.; MALASPINA,I.C.; FERREIRA,R.G.; TEDESQUE,M.G.; PITELLI,R.A.; BIANCO,S..
The aims of this study were to evaluate the effectiveness of diquat, copper hydroxide, copper oxychloride and their associations diquat + 0.1% copper oxychloride and diquat + 0.1% copper hydroxide to control Cerathophyllum demersum. Therefore, the concentrations used were 0.1, 0.3, 0.5, 0.7, 1.0 and 1.5 mg L-1 oxychloride and copper hydroxide and 0.2, 0.4, 0.8 and 1.2 mg L-1 diquat and their associations with 0.1% copper oxychloride and 0.1% copper and a control hydroxide. The experimental design was completely randomized with ten replications for 45 days. For evaluation we used a scale of 0-100% control of notes and rated the weight (g) and length (cm) of pointers at the end of the trial period. Diquat showed 100% efficacy at 30 DAA, associations in 21...

Herbicides for Rooted Aquatic Macrophytes Planta Daninha
CERVEIRA JR.,W.R.; SILVA,A.F.; CRUZ,C.; PITELLI,R.A.; MARTINS,D..
ABSTRACT: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of glyphosate, 2,4-D, and diquat to control the aquatic macrophytes Brachiaria subquadripara, Hedychium coronarium, and Myriophyllum aquaticum under greenhouse conditions. The following herbicides and doses were used: glyphosate at 240, 720, 1,680, 2,640, 3,600, and 4,320 g a.e. ha-1, 2,4-D at 335, 1,005, 1,675, 2,345, and 3,015 g a.e. ha-1, diquat at 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, and 600 g a.i. ha-1, and a control with 10 replications. Sprayings were applied with a CO2-pressurized backpack sprayer at a constant pressure of 172.36 KPa, tips DG 11002, and spray solution consumption of 200 L ha-1. The effectiveness of control was evaluated visually at 3, 7, 15, 21, 30, 45, and 60 days after...

Imazapyr herbicide efficacy on floating macrophyte control and ecotoxicology for non-target organisms Planta Daninha
CRUZ,C.; SILVA,A.F.; SHIOGIRI,N.S.; GARLICH,N.; PITELLI,R.A..
the aims of this study were to determine imazapyr efficacy for floating macrophyte control and ecotoxicology for non-target organisms. For the floating macrophyte control efficacy tests were used the doses of 0,5; 1,0; 2,0; 2,5; 3,0; 3,5 and 4,0 L ha-1 and a control with 10 replicates. The acute toxicology for non-target organisms was estimated by lethal concentration 50% (LC50 and EC50). The floating macrophyte control efficacy was over 90%. Imazapyr was classified as moderately toxic for the following biomarkers: L. minor, H. eques, B. rerio, P. caudimaculatus, P. canaliculata, and P. mesopotamicus and lightly toxic for A. caroliniana. Thus, imazapyr herbicide is a tool with great potential to be used on floating macrophyte control (E. crassipes, P....

Susceptibility Among Populations of Crabgrass to Herbicides Inhibiting Photosystem II Planta Daninha
LUCIO,F.R.; BARROSO,A.A.M.; TOLEDO,R.E.B.; PITELLI,R.A.; VICTORIA FILHO,R..
ABSTRACT: Weed interference reduces the productive potential of crops. Among the control methods used, chemical ones occupy a major position. The repeated application of the same mechanism of action selects tolerant plants. Among the species that affect sugarcane, crabgrass is one of them. This study has aimed to know the tolerance of different populations of this species to herbicides inhibiting photosystem II. Three populations were collected, identified and submitted to the application of ametryn and diuron herbicides in ten different doses, and the experiment was conducted in a experimental design of complete randomized blocks with four repetitions in a factorial arrangement of 10 x 3 (10 doses x 3 populations), being one trial for each herbicide....
