The parasitoid, Trichogramma spp. was produced using the rice moth eggs Corcyra cephalonica as host. Thus, the study of storage methods was done for the right timing of the parasitoid application during the pest out break. Various storage methods were studied by comparing different set of packed eggs in tissue paper and fire mesh, and unpacked eggs. The eggs were then stored at 5±2°C and 7±2°C for 1-4 weeks. The interaction between temperatures and packing methods resulted in the reduction of egg weight. At 5±2°C reduced fewer egg weight and more larval emergence than that at 7±2°C. Additional emergences were found more in packing eggs with tissue paper than fine mesh and unpacked. The one week storage eggs at both temperatures showed more than 80%... |
