| Este experimento esta sendo conduzido, no campo experimental da caatinga, Embrapa Semi-Arido, localizado no municipio de Petrolina-PE, regiao semi-arida do Nordeste brasileiro. Estao sendo utilizados 22 animais, da raca Sindhi, sendo dez femeas e doze machos, com idade variando de 1 a 4 anos. O manejo para todas as categorias animais e o mesmo utilizado pelo sistema de producao Embrapa Semi-Arido, onde sao manejadas, todo o periodo do experimento, em pastagem nativa (caatinga), durante dois a quatro meses e em pastagem cultivada (capim buffel), durante o restante do ano. | A comparative study of testicular biometry was done in rams using three major breeds of sheep in Nigeria. Biometrical parameters observed were scrotal circumference (SC), testes weight (TW), testes length (TL), tunica albuginea weight (TAW), testes volume (TV), testes density (TD), epididymal weight (EW), epididymal length (EL), caput (CA), corpus (CO), cauda weight (CU), epididymal volume (EV) and epididymal density (ED). The results showed significant differences (p<0.05) between the Uda, Balami and Yankasa breed in the SC, TW, TV, EW, EL, CA, CO, CU, and EV. | As milk provides a substantial amount of vitamins and minerals in relation to its energy content, it is considered a nutrient dense food The difference and changes in the nutritional compositions (Protein, fat, carbohydrate, moisture content, ash content, fibre content, magnesium and calcium) of White Fulani, Sokoto Gudali and mixture of the two breeds were investigated before and after autoclaving of milk samples in glass, aluminium and stainless steel containers at various temperatures of 1100C,1210Cand 1300C with autoclaving time of 10minutes, 20 minutes and 30 minutes. | Allelic frequencies at 12 loci (five blood groups: C, D, K, P, and U; and seven protein polymorphisms: Al, A1B, Es, Gc, Hb, PGD, and Tf), are given for two Brazilian horse breeds: Mangalarga Marchador and Mangalarga. The high genetic identity value found (96.0%) is consistent with their common origin, although, at some point of the development of Mangalarga Marchador, Mangalarga separated from the original stock. The expected average heterozygosity was higher in Mangalarga Marchador. The populations presented genetic differentiation, as shown by the statistically significant value of F ST.
