Brazilian pig production has been highlighted worldwide, currently the country has occupied the fourth place both in production and export of pork. The the Brazilian governmen has required the addition of 7% biodiesel in fossil diesel, this requirement also increased the amount of glycerin which is a byproduct from production of biodiesel by transesterification. Glycerin has interesting nutritional characteristics for animal feed, and reduce the cost of diets to have energy value similar to corn. For each 90 m3 of biodiesel produced by transesterification of vegetable oils are generated 10 m3 of glycerin. Glycerol is a nutritional component of dietary fat (triglycerides) in the diet can be absorbed as monoglycerides constituent after a partial hydrolysis...

This study aimed to evaluate the morphology of sunflower productivity and oil content of seeds and sunflower cake, cv. Helium 250, subjected to doses of organic manure on dryland. The design was a randomized block with six treatments and four blocks and nine observations. Treatments consisted of manure levels: T1 - without adding manure, T2 - 7.5 t ha-1, T3 - 15 t ha-1, T4 - 22.5 t ha-1, T5 - 30 t ha-1, T6 - 37.5 t ha-1. For morphological evaluation noted the diameter of the chapter, plant height and number of leaves. We estimated the yield of achenes from the weight of 100 seeds, and productivity of oil and cake from seed production. Performance and carcass traits of goat kids fed high-concentrate diets containing citrus pulp or soybean hulls Ciência Rural

ABSTRACT: The objective in this trial was to determine the effects of partial replacement of ground corn by citrus pulp or soybean hulls on performance and carcass characteristics of feedlot goat kids. Twenty one Boer x Saanen kids (initial BW 15.8 ± 0.7kg), nine males and 12 females, were distributed in a complete randomized block design, according to sex and initial body weight. Treatments were set by replacing 50% of ground corn (DM basis) for citrus pulp or soybean hulls; whereas, forage concentrate ratio was of 10:90. Partial replacement of corn by citrus pulp or soybean hulls increased dry matter intake, average daily gain and final body weight, but feed efficiency was not affected. There was no difference between citrus pulp or soybean hulls....
