O estudo coordenado pela Embrapa Semiárido no período 2013–2017 teve como um de seus objetivos identificar cultivares de videira com potencial para produção de vinhos em três microrregiões do Nordeste, onde a vitivinicultura ainda não é uma atividade tradicional: Agreste de Pernambuco, Serra de Martins, no Rio Grande do Norte, e Chapada Diamantina, na Bahia. A cidade de Garanhuns, PE foi selecionada por estar localizada a 230 quilômetros do Recife, PE, latitude 08° 58’ S e longitude 36° 30’ W com 823 m de altitude (Instituto Nacional de Meteorologia, 2024), pertencendo à Mesorregião do Agreste Meridional. One of the greatest problems in Coffea arabica breeding is identifying precisely any inbred line, based only on botanical and agronomical descriptors, because of the reduced genetic variability of the species, close pedigree origin, which results in small phenotypic variation. Recently, molecular markers have been used for plant germplasm characterization and identification in several commercial species. The genetic characterization of 117 peach and nectarine cultivars (Prunus persica (L.) Batsch) using microsatellite (SSR) markers is presented. Analyzed genotypes include the complete list of cultivars under intellectual property (IP) protection in Chile. One hundred and two out of the 117 cultivars under study could be identified using only 7 SSRs. Other 5 cultivars were differentiated using 3 additional markers, but 5 pairs of genotypes were not differentiable. The average expected heterozygosity for the set of markers was 0.55, ranging from 0.28 in BPPCT-008 to 0.81 in CPPCT-022, with an F value of 0.37. The objective of this work was to characterize the grape germplasm in Santa Catarina, Brazil, using microsatellite DNA markers (simple sequence repeats - SSR). The DNA samples were collected from leaves and shoots of accessions of public and private collections from the counties Urussanga, Nova Trento, Rodeio, São Joaquim, Campos Novos, Videira, and Água Doce. Ten SSR loci (VVS2, VVMD5, VVMD7, VVMD27, VrZAG62, VrZAG79, VVMD25, VVMD28, VVMD31, and VVMD32) were analysed by capillary electrophoresis. Weeping lovegrass is well adapted for forage production and useful for soil conservation in semiarid regions, constituting a morphologically diverse group. Diploid genotypes are unfrequent and reproduce sexually, whereas the tetraploids and plants of higher ploidy levels reproduce by apomixis. A goiabeira (Psidium guajava L.) é de fundamental importância econômica para o Semiárido brasileiro, principalmente, para os pequenos produtores. Por este motivo, a Embrapa Semiárido sempre dispensou muitos esforços de pesquisa com a cultura. Poucos anos depois da instalação da Embrapa Semiárido em Petrolina, PE, a goiabeira já foi avaliada e considerada promissora para cultivo em diversos locais do Nordeste do Brasil (Nunes et al., 1978). Com os primeiros plantios em condição de sequeiro, as pesquisas conduzidas levaram a cultura a uma posição de destaque na fruticultura irrigada dos dias atuais, conforme será apresentado ao longo deste documento. ABSTRACT: Cultivated strawberry (Fragaria × ananassa Duch.) is a high value horticultural crop. In this study, the genetic diversity of 160 strawberry accessions was determined using five highly polymorphic simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers. Sixty different alleles were identified, with allele frequencies in the range of 0.006 to1. Similarity scores were in the range of 0.034 to 0.963 (average: 0.507). This study aimed the identification of cultivars and/or lines of Coffea arabica of commercial interest, using PCR-RAPD markers. The DNA of ground seeds lots of 12 cultivars and/or lines were evaluated with five primers (Operon OPA 01, OPA 04, OPG 11, OPY 16, and OPX 09) were obtained from a selection of 56 primers.
