ABSTRACT Guava (Psidium guajava L.) can be propagated by seed, layering, air layering, grafting (budding or grafting), cuttings (root or shoot) or tissue culture. Propagation by seed is used for rootstock production and for raising populations for screening at early phases in the breeding programs. Vegetative propagation methods are used to clone selected genotypes from these programs and commercial orchards because it perpetuates all characteristics of each cultivar. This review addresses different methods that can be used to propagate guava, the methods commercially adopted and the progress obtained in recent years. ABSTRACT Nursery trees of stone fruits (Prunus spp.) are traditionally produced by union of two distinct genotypes - the rootstock and the scion - which, by grafting, form a composite plant that will be maintained throughout of all plant life. In Brazil, the rootstocks are predominantly seed propagated and therefore usually results in heterogeneous trees for vigor and edaphic adaptation. Abstract The Myrtaceae family has representatives spread worldwide, and Jabuticaba tree is an important species native to Brazil, which is grown not only in the backyards and domestic orchards, but also in commercial orchards, landscaping projects and in several tropical and subtropical countries. The propagation of this species in a sexual form or by seeds is simple and efficient, being able to reach 100%. O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar o desenvolvimento inicial de Myrsine guianensis Aubl. (azeitona-do-mato) e Diospyros sericea A. DC. (olho-de-boi), função de duas doses de fósforo e da inoculação com fungos micorrízicos arbusculares (FMA) nativos do Cerrado. Ambas as espécies são lenhosas nativas de Matas de Galeria do Distrito Federal e apresentam potencial de utilização em plantios mistos destinados ao repovoamento de áreas degradadas. As mudas foram produzidas, em viveiro, irrigado, com 30% de sombreamento, em tubetes de 290 ml. In this study, the canola stalk cutting parameters including modulus of mass density of stalk, special work of useful cutting, coefficient of cutting useful work and crush resistance coefficient were examined. For the tests, testing machine Instron (Model Santam STM-5) with 50 N load cell was used. Cutting was performed with a saw-serrated cutting blade that was attached to the Instron movable jaw. Afin d’évaluer le potentiel de régénération de Gracilaria verrucosa du lac de Bizerte, une culture expérimentale, in situ sur cordes tendues sur le substrat, a été mise en place à partir de boutures de 200 g. Au terme de quatre mois de culture, de février à mai 2003, les cordes ont été soumises à une, deux, trois ou quatre coupes. L’analyse statistique montre que la meilleure situation est représentée par les touffes qui n’ont subi qu’une seule coupe à la fin du mois de mai; dans ce cas, ces touffes ont un poids final de 1771,4 g et un taux de croissance spécifique de 1,8. |

Com a finalidade de reduzir o tamanho do saco de plastico para a formacao de mudas de seringueira, tornando esta tecnica viavel para os heveicultores, foi conduzido, no CNPSD, um experimento onde foram testados sacos de plastico de coloracao preta, sanfonados lateralmente, com 0,16mm de espessura. Como substrato foi utilizado solo da camada aravel de Latossolo Amarelo muito argiloso. A adubacao do substrato consistiu de incorporacao de superfosfato triplo, cloreto de potassio e calcariodolomitico. A adubacao nitrogenada feita por meio de regas quinzenais com ureia, sendo duas apos o amadurecimento do primeiro lancamento foliar do enxerto e duas, apos o segundo lancamento. |

No processo de desenvolvimento de mudas de guarana por estacas, um dosfatores fundamentais e' a manutencao da umidade, desde o enraizamento a transferencia da planta ao campo. Varios metodos de irrigacao foram testados para enraizamento de estacas de guarana, onde analisaram-se alguns sistemas de nebulizacao, apresentados neste trabalho em forma de projeto, com um viveiro de 10000 mudas de guarana enraizadas por estacas, com as dimensoes, componentes necessarios e o esquema montado, alem de caracterizar o usuario para sua adocao, recomendavel para a regiao amazonica. |

Christ's thorn (Ziziphus spina-christi (L.) Desf.) is a cross-pollinated plant with a wide range of genetic variability in nature and, for this reason, vegetative propagation assumes importance for improvement programs. The objective of this work was to evaluate cutting, T budding and tissue culture methods for this species. Shoots of 22-25 cm length were treated by two culture media and three shoot diameters for cutting trial.
