Visando a producao de milho (Zea mays L.) verde em consorcio com o feijao (Phaseolus vulgaris L.), foram avaliadas diferentes epocas de plantio na entressafra, no Centro Nacional de Pesquisa de Milho e Sorgo, MG, em 1982 e 1983. Em cada epoca foi realizado um experimento distinto, em blocos casualizados com tres repeticoes e seis tratamentos. Os experimentos envolveram duas variedades de milho - BR 126 e BR 105 - e duas de feijao CNF 010 e Rio Tibagi - em consorcio com semeadura simultanea na mesma linha e os dois respectivos monocultivo de milo. Date is the most popular fruit in middle-east countries. However, the date production process is accompanied by a substantial increase of loss during picking, storage, commercialization and conditioning process. Date and their byproducts have many essential elements for the growth of microorganisms. Thus, they can be converted into value-added compounds through biotechnology. In this paper, date and their processing byproducts used as substrates for producing value-added products such as organic acids, exopolysaccharide, antibiotics, date flavored probiotic fermented dairy, bakery yeast, etc, were reviewed. |

The knowledge of rheological properties of agricultural fruits can be significantlyhelpful in design and fabrication of the appropriateprocessing machines .In this study, the viscoelastic characteristics of date (Mazafati variety) were investigated. Experimental tests were established in six moisture levels (7.5, 9.0, 10.8, 12.8, 17.59 and 25.5 on dry basis) and temperature of 45ºC which contributed to obtain a suitable model. To achieve the desired moisture levels, various saturated salts were used. Durante tres anos (1978 a 1980) foram realizados experimentos de producao de sementes de capim-gordura (Melinis minutiflora, Beauv), utilizando-se uma pastagem natural, estabelecida em solo de topografia inclinada representativo da Zona da Mata do Estado de Minas Gerais. O objetivo dos experimentos foi avaliar o potencial de producao, a melhor epoca de colheita de sementes desta especie e a sua viabilidade apos o armazenamento por um ano em condicoes ambientais. As melhores producoes foram obtidas quando as sementes colhidas apresentavam de 36 a 43% de umidade. Knowing the physical and mechanical properties is very important for automating the activities associated with the date pit. The objective of this study was to determine physical and mechanical properties of date pit of Mazafati cultivar as a function of moisture content. The physical properties of the pits were determined in the moisture content range of 7% to 40% (wb). The date pits was compressed along the width at 0.08, 0.46, 0.55 and 0.64 (db) moisture contents to determine required force, deformation, and energy per volume (toughness) at rupture point. Com o objetivo de verificar o ciclo da cultivar de milho mais adequado para as diversas opcoes de epocas de semeadura, foram conduzidos experimentos em Sao Gabriel d'Oeste e Sidrolandia, no Mato Grosso do Sul, utilizando as cultivares Cargill 606 (super precoce), Hata 1000 (precoce) e Agroceres 106 (normal) em diversas epocas de semeadura, no periodo de outubro a janeiro dos anos 1988/89 e 1989/90. Utilizou-se o delineamento de blocos casualizados em esquema de parcelas subdivididas, onde as parcelas foram as epocas e as subparcelas as cultivares, com quatro repeticoes. The authorship of this work or at least the ornithological part of it, and of the subsequent 1863 report, is best attributed to both John Edward Gray, who signed the preface, and his brother George Robert Gray. The first report has an imprint date of 1846, but evidence shows that this was not available as a published work until January 1847. The potential for priority conflict between this Catalogue and papers by Hodgson and Blyth in 1844-46, and between the Catalogue and G.R. Gray (1844-49), is discussed; and the new names proposed by Gray & Gray in the Catalogue are examined to see which were immediately in synonymy when they were published. Attention is drawn to the correct authorship of the generic name Aceros as being Hodgson and not J.E. Gray. |
