Ecologie et cartographie des coraux d’eau froide du canyon de Lacaze-Duthiers en Méditerranée; Données de la campagne CALADU 2019 ArchiMer
Sanchez, Pierre; Fabri, Marie-claire.
This work aimed to study populations of cold-water corals in the Lacaze-Duthiers canyon, a French canyon in the western part of the Gulf of Lion. the study was carried out using photos and videos of the wire-Remote Operated Vehicle: the HROV Ariane. Analysis of photos and videos allowed us to obtain information on the general biodiversity, on the spatial and vertical distribution and on the population density of the coldwater coral communities of the canyon but also on the size ranges and of colors of these species. Thus, it was noted that Madrepora oculata was the most represented species. This species has been observed in abundance ten times greater than the Lophelia pertusa species, which presented very dense distributions in places and then almost...

Etat de la prolifération de la crépidule (Crepidula fornicata L.) dans le secteur de Granville (Golfe Normano-Beton - 1985) ArchiMer
Quiniou, Francoise; Blanchard, Michel.
An area located between the Mont-St-Michel Bay and Jersey was monitored from 1984 to 1985. Limpet densities have been evaluated through quantitative sampling and underwater video. At the same time, some planktonic samplings have enabled the monitoring of the evolution of larval abundances. Maxima, planktonic and benthic density areas superpose each other. Moreover, the study of the populations shows that the number of young colonies is increasing, thus clearly indicating that Crepidula fornicata populating is booming in the Norman-Breton gulf.

Impact d’une obligation de débarquement sur les dynamiques couplées écosystème-pêcheurs : approche par modélisation individu-centrée appliquée à la Manche orientale ArchiMer
Bourdaud, Pierre.
The objective of this thesis was to anticipate the effects if the EU Landing Obligation (LO) implemented since the beginning of 2015 in the Eastern English Channel (EEC). To achieve these objectives, it was planned to: i) better understand seasonal spatial distribution of commercial species using on-board commercial vessels observation data, ii) compare them with the fine scale fishing effort distribution of EEC bottom otter trawlers (OTB), and iii) develop an individual-based model of fleet-dynamics, DSVM, to be integrated within the ecosystem model OSMOSE to simulate a LO. The usefulness of on-board observation data was proved for a main part of a species sample, using validation from the literature and a geostatistical indicator. Then the comparison of...

Spatial and temporal variations of fish assemblages in a shallow Mediterranean soft-bottom area (Gulf of Fos, France) ArchiMer
Letourneur, Y; Darnaude, A; Salen-picard, C; Harmelin-vivien, M.
The fish assemblages of two shallow soft-bottom areas located in the Gulf of Fos (NW Mediterranean) were studied by means of 57 trawl surveys carried out on both seasonal and diel scales between 1983 and 1985. A total of 47 fish species was recorded, with a mean density and biomass of 650 individuals ha(-1) and 2.67 kg ha(-1), respectively. Most of the fluctuations observed were on the spatial scale. Strong differences in fish assemblages were observed between the two areas, with both higher species richness and biomass in the outer part of the gulf (La Gracieuse), while a higher density of individuals characterised its inner part (Bay of Carteau). This spatial pattern was due to a small number of species, such as the gobiids Gobius niger and Pomatoschitus...

Use of a disjunctive kriging to model areas of high pelagic fish density in acoustic fisheries surveys ArchiMer
Petitgas, Pierre.
Schooling fish may aggregate in very high densities covering very small areas. Thus the probability of hitting such high-density spots during a large-scale sampling is very low. The sampling fluctuations of the tail of the histogram are thought to be very significant. The stock biomass estimate and its precision rely greatly on how precisely the tail of the histogram can be sampled. In order to acquire elements for improving survey designs and abundance estimators wc study here the relation in space that the high values have with the other values. A disjunctive kriging approach is used. Different quantiles of the histogram are coded by indicators. The spatial structure of each indicator and its spatial covariation with the others are studied by computing...

Variations à différentes échelles spatiales de l'herbier à Posidonia oceanica (L.) Delile ; effets sur les paramètres physico-chimiques du sédiment ArchiMer
Gobert, S; Kyramarios, M; Lepoint, G; Pergent-martini, C; Bouquegneau, Jm.
The biometric parameters (shoot density, length and width of leaves, leaf and epiphyte biomasses, leaf surface) of the P. oceanica meadow present a significant spatial variability at the mesoscale level (100m(2)). All the parameters studied, excepting the number of leaves, decrease according to the depth. The horizontal spatial variations (centrifuge and centripetal distributions) reach a maximum in the shallower areas. The analysis of the microstructures (m(2)) of the meadow has not allowed a relationship to be established between the spatial variations of the biometric parameters and the environmental factors in the sediment (pH, water and organic matter content, red-ox potential, nutrient content). The heterogeneity of the meadow in the Revellata Bay...
