Effect of Fat Sources and Emulsifier Supplementation in Broiler Starter, Grower and Finisher Diets on Performance, Nutrient Digestibility, and Carcass Parameters 89
Kamran,J; Mehmood,S; Rahman,MA; Mahmud,A; Saima,; Hussain,M; Rehman,A; Khalil,S; Qamar,SH.
ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of fat sources and emulsifier supplementation in different phases on growth performance of broilers. Treatments were; (T1) basal ration (BR) which contained soy oil (SO) and had inclusion of emulsifier for whole life, (T2) BR which contained poultry fat (PO) and had inclusion of emulsifier for whole life, (T3) BR which contained oxidized oil (OO) and had inclusion of emulsifier for whole life, (T4) BR which contained SO and had inclusion of emulsifier during starter phase (T5) BR which contained PO and had inclusion of emulsifier during the starter phase, (T6) BR which contained OO and had inclusion of emulsifier during the starter phase, (T7) BR which contained SO and had inclusion of...

Effect of Synthetic Emulsifier and Natural Biosurfactant on Feed Process and Quality of Pelletized Feed in Broiler Diet 89
Cheah,YS; Loh,TC; Akit,H; Kimkool,S.
ABSTRACT A feed production trial was conducted to study the effect of synthetic emulsifier and natural biosurfactant the process and quality of pelletized broiler feed. A corn-soy based broiler diet was formulated with fixed ratio 2:1 of oil-to-water with two types of emulsifiers, namely glyceryl polyethylene glycol ricinoleate synthetic emulsifier and lysophosphatidylcholine natural biosurfactant. T1: Basal diet with no water and no emulsifier; T2: Basal diet with water and no emulsifier; T3: Basal diet with water and synthetic emulsifier glyceryl polyethylene glycol ricinoleate; T4: Basal diet with water and a natural biosurfactant lysophosphatidylcholine as comparative treatment. The treatment diets were manufactured by a commercial feed mill. The...

Effect on the enzymatic hydrolysis of lipids from dairy wastewater by replacing Gum Arabic emulsifier for sodium chloride 52
Mendes,Adriano Aguiar; Castro,Heizir Ferreira de.
The objective of this work was to evaluate the replacement of Gum Arabic for sodium chloride to reduce fat and organic contents in dairy wastewater using two low cost commercially available lipase preparations from animal source (Kin Master - LKM and Nuclear- LNU). The best performance was achieved when lipase Nuclear (LNU) was used as catalyst. In addition, this lipase preparation has also lower cost, which makes its use a quite promising technique for reduction of suspended solids as proteins and lipids contents found in wastewater generated by dairy industries.

Emulsifier Supplementation Response in Ross 308 Broilers at 1-10 Days 89
Shahid,I; Sharif,M; Yousaf,M; Ahmad,F; Anwar,U; Ali,A; Hussain,M; Rahman,MA.
ABSTRACT The study was conducted to check the effect of emulsifier supplementation on growth performance of broiler birds on starter phase, from days 1 to 10. In the current study, a total of twelve hundred twenty-four Ross 308 broiler one day old chicks were used. Ross 308 broiler chicks were divided into two groups in such a way that each group had12 replicates, and each replicate had 51 birds. The duration of the current trial was of 10 days. Chicks were fed experimental diets with or without emulsifier supplementation. Daily feed intake, body weight, feed conversion ratio and nutrient digestibility were recorded. Mortality was recorded on a daily basis, and feed intake was also corrected for mortality. Data collected from the experiment was interpreted...

Production and stability studies of the bioemulsifier obtained from a new strain of Candida glabrata UCP 1002 69
Asfora Sarubbo,Leonie; Moura de Luna,Juliana; de Campos-Takaki,Galba Maria.
Evaluation of both tenso-active and emulsifying activities indicated that a biosurfactant was produced by the newly isolated and promising strain Candida glabrata isolated from mangrove sediments. The extracellular water-soluble emulsifying agent was isolated and identified as a heteropolymer. The maximum of bioemulsifier production was observed when the strain was grown on soluble and insoluble substrates cotton seed oil plus glucose, reaching values of 10.0 g/l after 144 hrs at 200 rpm. The cell-free culture broth containing the examined agent lowered the surface tension of the medium to 31 mN/m. Stable and compact emulsions with emulsifying activity of 75% of cotton seed oil were detected. The emulsification capacity remained practically unaltered...

Sukanya Phonpalert; Nattanan Saenthaweesuk; Songsak Chumpawadee; Jowaman Khajarern.
The objective of this study was to determine the effects of an exogenous emulsifier on performance and carcass traits of broiler. The exogenous emulsifier (sodium strearoyl-2-lactylate) was added 0.05% to the 3 levels reduction (0.70, 1.00 and 1.30 %) rice bran oil from control diets. The results showed that body weight gain, feed intake, feed conversion ratio, survival rate, productive index and feed cost/kg BW (FCG) were similar to the added emulsifier and control fed groups for 3 periods of testing (1-21, 22-35 and 36-42d of age). However, over period of 1-42 d of age, birds fed with exogenous emulsifier 0.05% to 0.07% reduction rice bran oil from control diets showed improvement and better (P<0.05) FCR and showed higher (P<0.05) than no added...
