Taxonomic notes on species of Passiflora subgenus Astrophea (Passifloraceae s.s.) Acta Botanica
Mezzonato-Pires,Ana Carolina; Milward-de-Azevedo,Michaele Alvim; Mendonça,Cláudia Barbieri Ferreira; Gonçalves-Esteves,Vania.
ABSTRACT The subgenus Astrophea is one of the most critical and neglected subgenera of the genus Passiflora. Seven Brazilian species of P. subg. Astrophea were found to be in need of typification. Lectotypes are designated for the following names: Passiflora cauliflora, P. leptopoda, P. ceratocarpa, P. faroana, P. rhamnifolia, P. sclerophylla and P. tessmannii. An epitype was also designated for the name P. tessmannii. In addition, Passiflora alliacea was synonymized with Passiflora pentagona.

Towards a phylogenetic reappraisal of Parmulariaceae and Asterinaceae (Dothideomycetes) Naturalis
Guatimosim, E.; Firmino, A.L.; Bezerra, J.L.; Pereira, O.L.; Barreto, R.W.; Crous, P.W..
Members of the Asterinaceae and Parmulariaceae are obligate biotrophic fungi with a pantropical distribution that grow in direct association with living plant tissues and produce external ascomata and bitunicate asci. These fungi are poorly known, with limited information about their taxonomic position in the Dothideomycetes. Much of what is known is conjectural and based on observation of morphological characters. An assessment of the phylogenetic position of the Asterinaceae and Parmulariaceae is provided based on a phylogenetic analysis of the nrDNA operon (ITS) and the large subunit rDNA (LSU) sequence data obtained from fresh material of selected species collected in Brazil. Three key species were included and epitypified, namely Asterina melastomatis,...

Typifications in Passiflora L. (Passifloraceae) described by Frei José Mariano da Conceição Vellozo Acta Botanica
Milward-de-Azevedo,Michaele Alvim.
ABSTRACT This work presents 19 lectotypifications and one epitype for the genus Passiflora (Passifloraceae sensu stricto) described by Frei José Mariano da Conceição Vellozo in Flora Fluminensis. The original illustrations are designated as lectotypes. Passiflora obtusa is here proposed to be a synonym of P. porophylla.
