Analysis of the genetic relationships from different genetic systems between the amylose content and the appearance quality of indica rice across environments Genet. Mol. Biol.

The genetic relationships between amylose content (AC) and appearance quality traits of indica rice (Oryza sativa L.) were investigated using conditional analysis and unconditional analysis in present experiment. The results from the unconditional analysis indicated that AC of rice positively correlated with brown rice (BR, i.e., dehulled but unmilled rice) length (BRL), width (BRW) and thickness (BRT), but was negatively correlated with the ratio of length to width (RLW). Biochemical polymorphisms and genetic relationships between Brazilian and foreign breeds of pigs reared in Brazil Ciência Rural

The genetic variability of 14 protein systems encoded by 15 structural loci was investigated in blood samples of Piau and Caruncho pig breeds. The results were compared with those obtained previously for samples of Landrace, Large White, Duroc and Mouro. The degree of genetic variability obtained for Piau (He=0.114) was similar to that estimated for other breeds reared in Brazil (Landrace, He=0.116; Large White, He=0.119; Duroc, 0.095; Mouro, He= 0.130). We analyzed the frequency of four mitochondrial DNA haplogroups in 424 individuals from 21 Colombian Amerindian tribes. Our results showed a high degree of mtDNA diversity and genetic heterogeneity. Frequencies of mtDNA haplogroups A and C were high in the majority of populations studied. The distribution of these four mtDNA haplogroups from Amerindian populations was different in the northern region of the country compared to those in the south. Haplogroup A was more frequently found among Amerindian tribes in northern Colombia, while haplogroup D was more frequent among tribes in the south. A core collection of the common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.), representing genetic diversity in the entire Mexican holding, is kept at the INIFAP (Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Forestales, Agricolas y Pecuarias, Mexico) Germplasm Bank. Genetic polymorphism and relationships among several swine populations of landrace, large white and duroc breeds Ciência Rural

The data of three protein polymorphisms were used to investigate the genetic relationships among the Landrace, Large White and Duroc swine breeds reared in Brazil, 12 other populations of these same breeds from various countries and a population of Belgium Landrace. The dendrogram, constructed from matrix of genetic distance coefficients, disclosed three large groups clustered by breed. Among them, the Landrace and the Large White showed in average closer resemblance (D= 0.203) than between them and Duroc (D= 0.241). It the three breeds, the smallest genetic distances were found between Brazilian and Cuban pig populations (Landrace: D = 0.060; Large White: D = 0.052; Duroc: D = 0.065), although there were not reports of pig exchanges between these two...

Researches on genetic relationships among water buffalo populations are useful in supporting conservation decisions and designing of breeding schemes. The aim of this study was to assess the genetic relationships among Cuban Buffalypso/Carabao hybrids and Murrah and Jaffarabadi Brazilian buffaloes using nine cattle microsatellite markers. During the analysis, four loci were excluded due to the presence of null alleles, stuttering and gametic disequilibrium. Mean numbers of alleles and the heterozygosities observed and expected in the three populations were not significantly different. Heterozygosities found were above 60%. Background: The advent of high-throughput genotyping technologies coupled to genomic prediction methods established a new paradigm to integrate genomics and breeding. We carried out whole-genome prediction and contrasted it to a genome-wide association study (GWAS) for growth traits in breeding populations of Eucalyptus benthamii (n =505) and Eucalyptus pellita (n =732). Both species are of increasing commercial interest for the development of germplasm adapted to environmental stresses. Microsatellite analysis to estimate genetic relationships among five bulgarian sheep breeds Genet. Mol. Biol.

Herein, genetic relationships among five breeds of Bulgarian sheep were estimated using microsatellite markers. The total number of alleles identified was 226 at the 16 loci examined. D A distance values were used for phylogenetic tree construction with the UPGMA algorithm. The two Tsigai and two Maritza populations were found to be geneticallvery closely related to each other y (0.198, and 0.258 respectively). The Pleven Black Head population was distinct from the other four. These results could be useful for preserving genes in these breeds, thereby ensuring their preservation in Bulgaria.

Most of mango (Mangifera indica L.) production in Chiapas, México is located at Soconusco region where a large morphological and genetic diversity have been detected due the free-pollination among plants. The characterization and identification of outstanding plants can be useful for mango diversity conservation as well as the use for mango breeding. Forty-one local mango accessions collected in five locations (Huehuetán, Pijijiapan, Tuxtla Chico, Tapachula, Escuintla) in the state of Chiapas, México, were subjected to AFLP analysis and then compared with 19 mango cultivars. This study used randomly amplified polymorphic DNA markers to determine genetic relationships among species of the subsection Dendrophlomis. Twenty accessions of the eleven Phlomis taxa were evaluated to determine genetic variability using fourteen ten mer primers selected from a 125 random oligonucleotide set. These 14 selected primers generated 85 RAPD bands that ranged in size from 200 to 1200 base pairs. Of the total bands, 88% (75) were polymorphic among the samples. Genetic distances among accessions were computed to produce a dendrogram based on UPGMA. The genetic relationships and structure of fourteen goat (Capra hircus) populations were estimated based on genotyping data from 14 goat populations (n = 410 goats) at 13 microsatellite loci. [[abstract]]自不同原生石斛蘭基因組DNA 中選殖葉綠體matK 的基因片段經定序後比較其相 似度,據以做為不同原生石斛蘭之親緣分析與分類依據,以matK 基因序列分析結果顯 示:各石斛蘭間的相似度介於91.1 至99.7%,顯示石斛蘭種間matK 基因序列保守性高。 細莖石斛 (Dendrobium leptocladum) 與其它參試石斛蘭之平均相似度為91%,是差異性 最大者;三星石斛 (Epigeneium sanseiense) 與連珠石斛 (E. nakaharaei) 二者間的相似 度最高,達99.7%,經由matK 基因序列分析結果可將參試石斛蘭分為4 個群,其中第 1 群的遺傳距離為0.003,第2 群的遺傳距離則介於0.020–0.012 之間;第3 群的離散度 較大,遺傳距離介於0.038–0.016 之間,而細莖石斛 (D. leptocladum) 因為DNA 缺失變 異較多而與其他石斛蘭間差異性最大,遺傳距離介於0.089–0.074 之間,故被單獨歸類 成第4 群,本種也是台灣原生石斛特有種。
