| Resumo: Para todo produto geoespacializado, é necessária uma documentação que possibilite a obtenção de informações úteis para sua interpretação, análises, comparações e produções de outros resultados. Essas informações são chamadas de metadados e podem conter datas, metodologias e referências. Uma vez que existe a necessidade de metadados, também deve existir um mecanismo para catalogá-los de forma ordenada e padronizada, além de disponibilizá-los para que outros tenham o acesso e possam utilizar tais informações. Esse trabalho tem como objetivo apresentar a estratégia adotada no Sistema AgroTag para a catalogação dos metadados com a finalidade de disponibilizá-los ao público. |

| Digital soil maps at appropriate scales are essential information for land use planning. Nevertheless, Brazilian soil information is scattered in several institutions and stored in several formats. In adition to that, this information have faced an interruption of its systematic soil survey program, providing difficult access to decision makers.
