Is Income Inequality Endogenous in Regional Growth? AgEcon

This study focuses on testing the relationship between income inequality and growth within U.S. counties, and the channels through which such effects are observed. The study tests three hypotheses: (1) income inequality has an inverse relationship with growth; (2) regional growth adjustments are the channels through which the inequality and growth are equilibrated; and (3) income inequality is endogenous to regional growth and its adjustment. Modeling the growth of Bertholletia excelsa Bonpl. (B. excelsa) trees in natural forests is important for understanding the species? ecology and for better defining site-specific management. In this sense, this study aimed to model the diameter growth rate of B. excelsa trees in contrasting forest environments in the Brazilian Amazon. This study was conducted in the Extractive Reserve Rio Cajari (RESEX Cajari). Growth models were fitted at species level to predict diameter growth rate in the two Amazonian forest environments. Aquaculture increasingly contributes to global seafood production, requiring new farm sites for continued growth. In France, oyster cultivation has conventionally taken place in the intertidal zone, where there is little or no further room for expansion. ABSTRACT Multivariate analysis helps to understand the relationships between dependent variables; this methodology has great potential in several areas of knowledge. The aim of this study was to adjust and compare the univariate and multivariate Gompertz and Logistic nonlinear models to describe the productive traits of sunn hemp (Crotalaria juncea L.). Two uniformity trials were performed, and the following productive traits were analyzed in 376 sunn hemp plants along 94 days of observations (four plants per day): the fresh mass of leaves (FML), the fresh mass of stem (FMS), and the fresh mass of the aerial parts (FMAP).
