Analyse de descripteurs énergétiques et statistiques de signaux sonar pour la caractérisation des fonds marins 5
Le Chenadec, Gilles.
Sonar systems own the attractive ability to simultaneously provide a bathymetric map and a sonar image of large insonified seabed areas. Recorded data information, the backscattered energy is well known as an essential clue about the seabed nature and roughness. This PhD thesis lie within a seafloor characterization project using acoustical methods. The objectives are the data exploitation of two sonar systems (a multibeam echosounder and sidescan sonar) ; both operate at a high frequency (around 100 kHz) but their survey geometry is different. Sonar images are first analyzed and reveal artefacts due to geometry of the sonar system and array patterns, leading to difficulties in their geological interpretation. In the context of the sediment discrimination,...

Three-dimensional magnetic resonance reconstruction images before and after surgical therapy of spontaneous canine brain tumors 65
Canola,Julio Carlos; Oliveira,Fabrício Singaretti de.
Specific software was used for reconstruction of spontaneous intracranial tumor volume from magnetic resonance images (MRI) in three dogs. Histopathologically confirmed meningioma, cystic meningioma, and choroid plexus tumors were evaluated before and after surgery. The software allowed the whole-volume segmentation of the skin, brain, tumor, edema, and cyst. Manipulation of the three-dimensional images (3D) allowed visualization of all anatomical structures, aided clinical understanding, surgical planning, and treatment monitoring.

USPLeaf: Automatic leaf area determination using a computer vision system1 124
Meira,Luiz Antonio; Pereira,Lilian Elgalise Techio; Santos,Manoel Eduardo Rozalino; Tech,Adriano Rogério Bruno.
ABSTRACT Computer vision systems based on digital image processing have been proposed as alternative tools to traditional methods to estimate leaf area, replacing the most time-consuming steps and laboring manual measurements. However, many of the available applications are still based on manual determination of leaf dimensions or require excessive and laborious user interventions before providing results. USPLeaf was designed to process images containing single or multiple leaves, and automatically determine the leaf area without user intervention. The accuracy for leaf area measurements of the software was compared to the results obtained by the standard method, an electronic planimeter (LI-3100). The vegetal species, Mavuno grass (MAV, Urochloa hybrid)...
