Naturalis Smit, J.; Smit, J.T.. De gele tubebij Stelis signata was sinds 1977 niet meer in ons land aangetroffen. Men dacht daarom dat deze bij uit ons land verdwenen was. In 2013 werd de soort echter op Waarneming.nl gemeld van de Strabrechtse hei en in 2014 van Afferden. In 2015 werd een vrouwtje gevangen op de Sprengenberg op de Sallandse heuvelrug. In 2011 heeft Natuurmonumenten hier kleinschalige maatregelen uitgevoerd voor specifieke heidesoorten, waaronder de aanleg van een flink aantal steilranden. Het microreliëf dat daarbij ontstaat vormt een belangrijke nestelplaats voor bijen en wespen. De vondst van de zeldzame gele tubebij op een van deze steilranden vormt de kroon op het werk. De gouden kegelbij Coelioxys aurolimbata is uit ons land recent alleen bekend uit de zuidelijke helft van Limburg. Vóór 1960 kwam deze parasiet van de lathyrusbij Chalicodoma ericetorum ook in het rivierengebied voor. In juli van dit jaar werd de gouden kegelbij gevangen in Duiven. Mogelijk is dit de voorbode van een herovering van het rivierengebied door deze bedreigde soort. Op 17 juni 2009 werd een mannetje van Megachile rotundata gevangen in Groesbeek, Gelderland. Dit is de eerste melding van deze soort in Nederland. Omdat de bij onder andere op luzerne en verwante planten vliegt wordt als Nederlandse naam luzernebehangersbij voorgesteld. De soort komt vooral voor in Midden- en Zuid-Europa, maar is onder andere in Amerika geïntroduceerd voor de bestuiving van luzerne. In dit artikel wordt ingegaan op de herkenning en leefwijze, de huidige verspreiding en de vindplaats in Nederland. Megachile pilidens new for the Netherlands (Hymenoptera: Apoidea: Megachilidae) Megachile pilidens Alfken 1924 is reported for the first time from the Netherlands. We also mention some new records in adjacent parts in Germany and Belgium. In Europe M. pilidens has a south-eastern distribution but recently expands to the north. Its occurrence seems to be associated with rocky or stony habitats. The Dutch records in 2005 and 2006 are four females and one male from different sites, all collected in the vicinity of (limestone) quarries in the southernmost part of the province of Limburg. The recent expansion is discussed and some data are presented on host plants and differences with the sibling species M. leachella. Tot voor kort waren acht soorten kegelbijen Coelioxys uit Nederland bekend. Sinds 2010 kan daar een negende soort aan toegevoegd worden: Coelioxys afra, de schubhaarkegelbij. Op 26 juni werden twee mannetjes gevangen op de Bergerhei in Noord-Limburg. Kegelbijen zijn zogenaamde broedparasieten of koekoeksbijen, die hun eitjes in nesten van andere bijensoorten leggen. De meeste soorten parasiteren bij behangersbijen Megachile, enkele soorten ook bij sachembijen Anthophora en metselbijen Osmia. Coelioxys afra parasiteert waarschijnlijk bij twee gastheren, het zilveren fluitje Megachile leachella en de rotsbehangersbij M. pilidens, die beide in Nederland voorkomen. First remarks on the nesting biology of Hypodynerus andeus (Packard) (Hymenoptera, Vespidae, Eumeninae) in the Azapa valley, northern Chile. Some aspects about the nesting biology of the potter wasp Hypodynerus andeus (Packard, 1869) are reported for the first time. Observations were carried out at the Azapa valley, coastal desert of northern Chile. A total of sixty nests were collected and examined, each composed by 1-14 cells, most of them found attached to concrete lamp posts. The only preys recorded in the cells were Geometridae (Lepidoptera) caterpillars and the presence of the parasitoid Anthrax sp. (Diptera, Bombyliidae) was also recorded. A number of arthropods belonging to different groups, mainly spiders, were found occupying empty nests.
