A META-ANALYSIS OF TECHNICAL EFFICIENCY IN NIGERIAN AGRICULTURE AgEcon
Ogundari, Kolawole.
This study sheds light on how study specific-characteristics impact mean technical efficiency (MTE) in Nigerian agriculture. Also the paper extracts consensus message about MTE and its drivers in Nigerian agriculture based on studies covering the period 1999-2008. A meta-analysis using truncated regression was employed on a total of sixty four studies which yield eighty six observations for the econometric analysis. The regression results show that MTE in Nigerian agriculture increased significantly over the years. Study specific-characteristics such as sample size, number of inputs used as well as studies with focus on crop and livestock production were found to significantly impact MTE. Further analyses show that studies in the Northcentral, Southwest,...

A Study of Dairy Farm Technical Efficiency Using Meta-Regression: An International Perspective Chilean J. Agric. Res.
This paper develops a meta-regression analysis to explain the variation of mean technical efficiency (PETP) measurements from a total of 65 frontier studies that report technical efficiency (ET) measurements at the dairy farm level in the literature published in English and Spanish. The analysis includes the effect of methodology on ET measurements, as well as the effect of the econometric procedure on the meta-regression estimates. Eight models were estimated, and two of these were selected: a fixed effects specification with dummy variables for the most significant studies without geographical effects (EFS), and a specification where the multiple observations are averaged and geographical effects included (OP). Based on model performance, the EFS option...

Meta–regression in Stata AgEcon
Harbord, Roger M.; Higgins, Julian P.T..
We present a revised version of the metareg command, which performs meta-analysis regression (meta-regression) on study-level summary data. The major revisions involve improvements to the estimation methods and the addition of an option to use a permutation test to estimate p-values, including an adjustment for multiple testing. We have also made additions to the output, added an option to produce a graph, and included support for the predict command. Stata 8.0 or above is required.

The influence of topdressing nitrogen on Azospirillum spp. inoculation in maize crops through meta-analysis Bragantia
Zeffa,Douglas Mariani; Fantin,Lucas Henrique; Santos,Odair José Andrade Pais dos; Oliveira,André Luiz Martinez de; Canteri,Marcelo Giovanetti; Scapim,Carlos Alberto; Gonçalves,Leandro Simões Azeredo.
ABSTRACT The Azospirillum is considered one of the most studied plant growth promoter genus. These bacteria are capable of promoting plant growth through several factors. However, the effect of Azospirillum spp. associated to nitrogen fertilization on maize grain yield has brought about controversial results. Thus, the objective of this study was to verify the influence of topdressing nitrogen on the effect of Azospirillum spp. inoculation on maize crops through meta-analysis. Data were collected from articles published in scientific journals, obtained from the Web of Science®, Scopus® and Google Scholar® databases. The bibliographic review included only articles with direct comparisons between maize yield in the presence and absence of Azospirillum spp....
