A new alpheid shrimp (Crustacea: Decapoda: Alpheidae) from South Vietnam Naturalis
Nguyên Van Xuân.
A new alpheid shrimp, Thuylamea camelus gen. nov. & spec. nov., from Dong Hoa, a coastal community of Can Gio district, and northwest of Vung Tau (Cap St. Jacques), Vietnam, is described and illustrated. The new genus appears not to be closely related to any of the previously described genera. It has the postero-dorsal margin of the carapace armed with two high and short crests which are slightly outward inclined and directed backward, and between these crests with a low but distinct conical spine, and an elevated conical boss in the anterior median area slightly behind the anterior margin of the first abdominal somite.

A new fossil subfamily of Bethylidae (Hymenoptera) from the Early Cretaceous Lebanese amber and its phylogenetic position Rev. Bras. Zool.
Azevedo,Celso O.; Azar,Dany.
A new subfamily, a new genus and a new species of Bethylidae are described and illustrated from a single individual in Early Cretaceous amber from central Lebanon. Lancepyrinae subfam. nov. represented by Lancepyris opertus gen. and sp. nov. present a mosaic of features common among several bethylid subfamilies. The new taxon is easily distinguished from related taxa mainly by the forewing venation, which has an unusual combination of closed lanceolate marginal cell, Rs+M tubular and well pigmented and M+RS angled. Phylogenetic analysis including indicates that Lancepyris opertus gen. and sp. nov. is a sister group of all subfamilies that have Coleoptera as hosts. A checklist of the 45 known fossil bethylid species is provided.

A new genus and species of soft coral (Octocorallia: Alcyonacea: Alcyoniidae) from Lord Howe Island, Australia Naturalis
Alderslade, P..
Lohowia koosi, a new species and new genus in the family Alcyoniidae, is described from Lord Howe Island, Australia. The new taxon has dimorphic polyps and a similar morphology to some of the flat, lobe-less nominal species of Lobophytum. The new taxon is clearly distinguished, however, by the possession of large, heavily armed autozooids, polypary surface sclerites in the form of large spindles that protrude through the surface, extremely large interior sclerites and base surface sclerites in the form of rods, spindles and ovals.

LEHTINEN,Pekka T..
A new genus of Neothyridae, type species Diplothyrus schubarti sp. n., is described from the leaf litter of a primary forest in the Reserva Florestal Adolpho Ducke, Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil. The two pairs of lateral excretory orifices instead of a single one in the type genus Neothyrus of the family Neothyridae, are diagnostic. A new genus of soft coral (Cnidaria, Octocorallia) from the Republic of Congo (Pointe-Noire Region) ArchiMer
Van Ofwegen, Leen P.; Aurelle, Didier; Sartoretto, Stephane.
A new genus of soft coral from the Republic of Congo is described, Complexum gen. n. Nine West African octocoral species previously described in the genus Alcyonium by Tixier-Durivault (1955) are referred to this new genus, and a new species is described and figured, C. pusillum sp. n. The new species is characterized by having encrusting growth form and abundant spiny clubs in the surface of the polyparium. It colonizes shallow calcareous rocky banks (5 to 20 m depth) existing in coastal water of the region of Pointe-Noire. Based on molecular phylogeny this new genus is well separated from Alcyonium species.

A rare and unusual new bittiine genus with two new species from the South Pacific (Cerithiidae, Gastropoda) ArchiMer
Strong, Ellen E.; Bouchet, Philippe.
A new genus, Limatium gen, n., and two new species, L. pagodula sp, n, and L. aureum sp, n. are described, found on outer slopes of barrier reefs and fringing reefs in the South Pacific. They are rare for cerithiids, which typically occur in large populations. The two new species arc represented by 108 specimens sampled over a period of 30 years, only 16 of which were collected alive. Three subadults from the Philippines and Vanuatu likely represent a third species. In addition to their rarity, Limatium species arc atypical for cerithiids in their smooth, polished, honey to golden brown shells with distinctive white fascioles extending suture to suture. The radula presents a unique morphology that does not readily suggest an affinity to any of the...

A revision of Myra Leach, 1817 (Crustacea: Decapoda: Leucosioidea) Naturalis
Galil, B.S..
A study of major collections led to a revision of the Indo-Pacific leucosioid genus Myra Leach, 1817. The systematic status and nomenclatural disposition of each species was assessed, and many were diagnosed based on examination of the type material. A new genus, Myrine, is established for M. acutidens (Ihle, 1918) and M. kesslerii (Paulson, 1875). The genus Myrodes Bell, 1855, is synonymized with Myra. Nine species are retained as valid: M. affinis Bell, 1855, M. australis Haswell, 1880, M. brevimana Alcock, 1896, M. elegans Bell, 1855, M. eudactyla (Bell, 1855), M. fugax (Fabricius, 1798), M. grandis Zarenkov, 1990, M. mammillaris Bell, 1855, and M. subgranulata Kossmann, 1877. A revision of the Heteropteryginae (Insecta: Phasmida: Bacillidae) of Borneo, with the description of a new genus and ten new species Naturalis
Bragg, P.E..
The three tribes of Heteropteryginae Kirby, 1896 occurring in Borneo are nocturnal, and ground dwelling species, easily found in both primary and secondary rainforest. The subfamily is reviewed, with keys and redescriptions of all Bornean species; one new species of a predominantly Bornean genus is described from the Philippines. Lectotypes have been selected for a number of species. The eggs of 17 species are described and illustrated. Distribution maps are given for all species. Many of the species have been collected by the author and reared in the United Kingdom; some observations on their natural history and behaviour are included. In the tribe Heteropterygini the synonymy has been re-examined with a revision to the status of several taxa. The five...
