Copepoda (Siphonostomatoida) associated with Ophiuroidea in Jamaica, Puerto Rico, and Barbados Naturalis
Humes, A.G..
Three new siphonostomatoid copepods are associated with Ophiuroidea in the tropical western Atlantic. Collocheres vervoorti spec. nov., from Ophiothrix angulata in Jamaica, has an elongate, gently tapered genital double-somite in the female and the second segment of leg 5 has a distal outer notch. Collocheres lunulifer spec. nov., an associate of Ophiothrix angulata and Ophiothrix suensonii in Barbados, has sclerotized lunules on the basis and first segment of the endopod of leg 1. Ophiurocheres bellulus gen. nov., spec, nov., living on Ophiomyxa flaccida in Puerto Rico, has the third segment of the exopod of leg 1 armed with 11,2,2 and the second segment of leg 5 bears 2 setae in the female and 3 setae in the male.

Late Cretaceous ophiuroids in the Binkhorst Collection at the Museum für Naturkunde, Berlin, reassessed Naturalis
Jagt, J.W.M.; Neumann, C..
A small lot of latest Cretaceous brittlestars from the Maastrichtian type area, contained in the Binkhorst [van den Binkhorst] Collection at the Museum für Naturkunde in Berlin, is restudied and, in part, illustrated for the first time. Presumably, these thirteen specimens represent only a portion of the ophiuroid material referred to in two papers by Binkhorst van den Binkhorst, both published in 1859, because all are assignable to two species which are common only in the Nekum and Meerssen members of the type Maastrichtian, namely Felderophiura vanderhami Jagt, 1991, and Ophiomusium lux Jagt & Kutscher in Jagt, 2000. Brittlestar material from lower levels within the Maastricht Formation (i.e., Valkenburg, Gronsveld, Schiepersberg and Emael members)...

Late Cretaceous-Early Palaeogene echinoderms and the K/T boundary in the southeast Netherlands and northeast Belgium — Naturalis
Jagt, J.W.M.; Kutscher, M..
The present paper is divided into two parts. In the first, all Campanian, Maastrichtian and Danian ophiuroids known to date from the extended type area of the Maastrichtian Stage, are described and illustrated. The geographic and stratigraphic distribution of this diverse echinoderm group are documented. A total of twenty-one genera (one of them new) and thirty-seven species (seven of them new) are recorded from the Campanian-Danian of Liège-Limburg and the Aachen area (Germany). The following taxa are new: Ophiocten? yvonnae sp. nov., Stegophiura? trispinosa sp. nov., Deckersamphiura inusitata gen. et sp. nov., Ophiarachna? martinblomi sp. nov., Ophiolepis? falsa sp. nov., Ophiomusium lux sp. nov., and Mesophiomusium decipiens gen. et sp. nov. Guille, A.; Wolff, W.J..
During our studies of this first part of the brittle-stars collection of the Snellius Expedition (1929-1930) in Indonesia, 37 species were found. Among these, a new genus and a new species of Amphiurid, Paramphichondrius tetradontus, are described; Ophiothrix picteti Loriol is transferred from the subgenus Acanthophiothrix to Ophiothrix s.s.; 17 other species, either rare or of taxonomically confused status, are discussed, i.e., Astroceras elegans, Ophiocentrus koehleri and O. vexator, Macrophiothrix belli, M. longipeda, M. rhabdota, and M. sp. aff. variabilis, Ophiothrix contenta, O. savignyi and O. trilineata (with a new synonym: O. tristis), O. (Acanthophiothrix) armata, O. (A.) spinossissima, O. (Keystonea) martensi, O. (Placophiothrix) hybrida and O....

Taxonomy of Ophiuroidea (Echinonermata) from the continental shelf and slope of the southern and southeastern Brazilian coast Biota Neotropica
Borges,Michela; Monteiro,Ana Maria Gouveia; Amaral,Antonia Cecília Zacagnini.
This study focuses on the ophiuroids collected during the Programme of Evaluation of the Living Resources of the Exclusive Economic Zone for the Brazilian coast (REVIZEE), South Score/Benthos, in the states of Rio de Janeiro (Ilha Grande Bay), São Paulo, Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul (Tramandaí) (24° 07,113' S and 29° 48,500' S; and 43° 46,759' W and 49° 06,800' W). Samples were collected on the continental shelf and slope (60-810 m) using the following equipment: van Veen, box corer and a rectangular dredge. Individuals were identified, measured and photo-graphed under a stereomicroscope and a scanning electron microscope. Growth series of the species that contributed with more than 10 individuals were analysed. A total of 5044 individuals...
