A formação de um coletivo de trabalho agroflorestal: o caso do grupo Gralha Azul, em Morretes-PR. Repositório Alice

Desde 2011, o município de Morretes-PR tem vivenciado o processo de organização de um coletivo de trabalho que tem nas práticas agroflorestais seu principal modo de ação. A intenção deste relato de experiências é contar a história da formação do grupo agroflorestal Gralha Azul, localizado na gleba Pantanal do assentamento Nhundiaquara. O método utilizado apoiou-se na pesquisa-ação, viabilizada a partir de sucessivas vivências junto ao grupo. Após períodos de intercâmbio de experiências e de interação entre saberes empírico-práticos e acadêmico-científicos, o grupo deu início à sua trajetória. Em um primeiro momento, a prática do mutirão foi o principal elo de construção do coletivo de trabalho, que foi se complexificando na medida em que novas soluções...

The purpose of this paper is to summarize IIMI/IWMI's past research and interventions related to irrigation management transfer and to document, to the extent possible, the academic, policy, and technical outcomes of these efforts. The application of a range of direct and indirect measurement techniques suggests an overall positive contribution from IWMI to IMT theory and application.

China’s water pricing reforms for irrigation: effectiveness and impact AgEcon

Irrigation occupies a central position in China’s crop production. However, due to low per capita water resources, much worse, unevenly distributed over regions and time and the rapid increase of water diversions to non-irrigation sectors, irrigation water shortages have become a very serious problem. Without the adoption of effective measures this problem may even threaten China’s food security. Currently, irrigation efficiency is very low in general, irrigation water prices cannot fully recover water supply costs, and irrigation facilities are aging due to the lack of funding for O&M (operation & maintenance). Since water prices are regulated by the government, and not determined by the market, water prices did not work effectively in water...

Institutional design principles for accountability in large irrigation systems. AgEcon

Argues that single irrigation systems managed by autonomous system-specific organizations accountable to their customers, perform better and are more sustainable than those managed by agencies dependent on the government, or by agencies responsible for multiple systems. Selected cases are reviewed and the plausibility of this hypothesis established. General recommendations are made for policy makers designing irrigation reform programs.
