Gas exchange and productivity of yellow passion fruit irrigated with saline water and fertilized with potassium and biofertilizer 118
Nunes,Járisson C.; Cavalcante,Lourival F.; Pereira,Walter E.; Souza,José T. A.; Almeida,Dácio J. de; Oresca,Denizard; Fernandes,Pedro D..
Abstract The salinity of irrigation water can affect the growth and development of most plants of commercial interest. Aiming to study these aspects in passion fruit culture, an experiment was performed to evaluate the effects of bovine biofertilizer and potassium fertilization on gas exchange and production of the passion fruit ‘BRS Giant Yellow’ irrigated with non-saline and saline water. The treatments were arranged in randomized blocks with sub-subdivided plots using the 2×(3×5) scheme, which refers to two levels of electrical conductivity of the irrigation water as the main plot (0.35 and 4.00 dS m−1) and the combination of three potassic fertilization practices (without fertilization, fertilized with conventional and...

Physiological parameters in sugarcane cultivars submitted to water deficit 61
Graça,José Perez da; Rodrigues,Fabiana Aparecida; Farias,José Renato Bouças; Oliveira,Maria Cristina Neves de; Hoffmann-Campo,Clara Beatriz; Zingaretti,Sonia Marli.
To investigate the processes involved in the susceptibility of sugarcane plants to water deficit, several physiological parameters were evaluated in drought tolerant (SP83-2847 and CTC15) and sensitive (SP86-155) cultivars. The water deficit affected the photosynthetic apparatus of all the plants in different ways, within and among cultivars. The photosynthetic rate and stomatal conductance decreased significantly in all cultivars submitted to water deficit. In control plants of the tolerant cultivars (SP83-2847 and CTC15) the photosynthetic rate was higher than in the sensitive cultivar (SP86-155). Cultivar CTC15 showed the highest relative water content during the dry period. The quantum efficiency photosystem II of cultivar SP83-2847 was more stable in...
