| O presente estudo tem como objetivo identificar alguns fatos que influenciaram os preços da arroba do boi gordo recebido pelo produtor bem como realizar estimativas desses preços para um período de quatro meses a partir de maio de 2007. Para tanto, utilizou-se a metodologia idealizada por Box-Jenkins (1976). Os resultados demonstraram que a série em questão (01/1996-05/2007) apresenta uma quebra estrutural no período referente a janeiro de 2004, fator esse que levou ao corte da mesma, sendo considerado na análise o intervalo de fevereiro de 2004 a maio de 2007, apresentando 40 observações. Alguns acontecimentos podem ter influenciados os preços da arroba do boi gordo naquele momento, e um que merece destaque é o fato de que nesse período foram detectados... |

| O setor primário brasileiro é de grande importância para sua economia e a lavoura orizícola gaúcha está inserida nesse contexto, também com grande relevância, pois tem significativo número de produtores que auferem seus rendimentos dessa atividade. Entretanto, há uma redução de rentabilidade no setor atribuída às Importações Mercosulinas que, alegam os produtores brasileiros, pressionam os preços internos. | Given heavy dependence on rainfed maize production, Zambia must routinely cope with pronounced production and consumption volatility in their primary food staple. Typical policy responses include increased food aid flows, government commercial imports and stock releases, and tight controls on private sector trade. | Com o aumento de preços e consumo do petróleo, tem-se procurado na biomassa alternativa energética renovável para sua substituição. Dentre as culturas capazes de atender à produção de insumo destinado à obtenção de energia renovável encontra-se a mamona. Objetivou-se, neste trabalho, conhecer o índice de variação estacional do preço da mamona, pois é essencial para a previsão de seu preço em determinada época do ano. Utilizou-se o preço da mamona recebido pelos produtores paranaenses e adotou-se a metodologia da média geométrica móvel centralizada de 12 meses, obtendo-se um padrão comportamental (sazonal). | This research was conducted in shops self-service of Pachuca and local commerce of Zacualtipán, were recorded prices of 24 products: rice, tortilla, tomato, lemon, jalapeno chile, milk, eggs, ham, sausage, beef, chicken meat, toilet paper, soap powder, toilet soap, toothpaste, beans, onions, potatoes, avocado, orange, banana, oil, salt and sugar. The dates for consulting prices were: July 26, 2007, on January 25 and May 29, 2008. The importance of this study is the comparative analysis and trends in prices. The shops self-service offer 9.7% cheaper in 62.5% of the products. | This paper analyses the asymmetric price transmission and non-linear adjustment at the farm and retail levels in the Iran’s mutton market. We applied a multivariate threshold error correction mechanism for monthly price data. We tested the non-linear adjustment using sup-LR, sup-LM and sup-Wald tests. The results confirm the presence of non-linear cointegration relationship between the retail and farm prices. In short-run, the price transmission behavior reveals that reactions of both the retail and farm prices to positive and negative deviations from the long-run price spread are asymmetric. More specially, the retailers show more strong responses to the both positive and negative shocks imposed to the farmers. |

| Abstract Fish consumption is low in Brazil and several factors justify this fact, among them the lack of practicality in preparation. Thus, this study aimed to investigate the relation between the price and the nutritional characteristics of the processed fish products. Correlations between price and nutritional value of 18 different processed fish products were established, comparing nutritional parameters between in natura and processed fish. The results showed that protein features moderate positive correlation to price. The processed fish products analyzed showed lower protein content and higher contents of energy, lipids and sodium compared to in natura fish. |
