Anatomical changes in Willow Wood Decayed by the brown rot fungus Coriolellus malicola (Basidiomycota) Boletín de la Sociedad
Murace,Mónica A.; Luna,María L.; Keil,Gabriel D.; De Cristófano,Natalia N..
In Argentina, Salix wood is employed mainly in pulp and paper industry. In this country, the brown rotter C oriolellus malicola was found in association with willow plantations. The purpose of this work was to study the anatomical changes caused by C. malicola in willow wood in order to provide information on the effects of brown rot decay in the yield and quality of pulp. Two willow clones were employed: Salix nigra 4 and Salix babylonica x Salix alba cv I 131-25 . Two exposure times were used: 75 and 150 days. The percentages of weight loss produced by this fungus in both clones was ca. 30% at 75 days and ca. 60% at 150 days of decay. C. malicola degraded mainly fibre walls. Microscopically, the loss of cell shape, the presence of transwall fractures and...

"Decrypting the Hebeloma crustuliniforme complex: European species of Hebeloma section Denudata subsection Denudata (Agaricales) " Naturalis
Eberhardt, U.; Beker, H.J.; Vesterholt, J..
Hebeloma subsection Denudata includes the type of H. section Denudata, Hebeloma crustuliniforme, as well as the majority of the taxa commonly included in the Hebeloma crustuliniforme complex. Complementing the work of D.K. Aanen and co-workers, and using refined morphological and molecular methods we were able to recognize further individual taxa within the section. Fifteen species occurring in Europe are assigned to H. subsect. Denudata. Of these, we describe eight species as new, namely H. aanenii, H. aurantioumbrinum, H. geminatum, H. louiseae, H. luteicystidiatum, H. pallidolabiatum, H. perexiguum and H. salicicola. Naucoria bellotiana, a species very similar to H. alpinum is recombined into Hebeloma. A key to Hebeloma subsect. Denudata is provided. We...

Indução in vitro de raízes adventícias em explantes de salix (Salix humboldtiana Willdenow)(Salix humboldtiana Willdenow) BABT
Paiva Neto,Vespasiano Borges de; Paiva,Renato; Furtado,Deborah E..
With the objective to investigate the in vitro behavior of salix (Salix humboldtiana Willdenow), leaf and nodal segments were inoculated in WPM medium supplemented with NAA and IBA. In leaf explants, the presence of these growth regulators, isolated or in combination, induced the formation of adventicious roots. Root hairs were only observed when NAA was present. In nodal explants, while the combination of 2,68 µM ANA + 2,46 µM IBA induced bud growth, the other treatments (4,92 µM IBA; 2,68µM ANA + 4,92 µM IBA; 5,37 µM ANA + 4,92 µM IBA; 5,37µM ANA) induced the formation of adventicious roots.
