Efeito do estresse hídrico e envelhecimento precoce na viabilidade de sementes osmocondicionadas de paineira (Chorisia speciosa). Repositório Alice

O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a eficiência do condicionamento osmótico em aumentar a tolerância de sementes de paineira (Chorisia speciosa St. Hil.) ao estresse hídrico e ao envelhecimento precoce. As sementes foram condicionadas em solução de KNO3 (0,1M) a 20oC durante 24 horas, e desidratadas a 27oC até atingirem o peso inicial, apresentado antes do tratamento. Em seguida, foram expostas ao estresse hídrico simulado com soluções de PEG 6000 nos potenciais osmóticos de 0,0, -0,1, -0,2, -0,3, -0,4, -0,5, -0,6 e -0,7 MPa e aos efeitos do envelhecimento precoce (45oC e 100% UR) durante 0, 24, 48, 72, 96 e 120 horas. Efeito do retardamento da secagem na qualidade fisiológica de sementes armazenadas de azevém anual. Repositório Alice

O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar os efeitos do retardamento da secagem e do armazenamento aberto na qualidade fisiológica de sementes de azevém anual (Lolium multiflorum Lam.), cultivar Comum-RS. Compararam-se períodos de retardamento da secagem (0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 12, 18, 24, 36 e 48 horas) e períodos de armazenamento (0, 4 e 8 meses). Enquanto submetidas aos períodos de retardamento da secagem, 24 kg de sementes ficaram acondicionadas em 18 caixas de poliestireno. A secagem foi realizada sobre piso de concreto, à sombra, por 12 horas, sendo completada em estufa a 35ºC com circulação forçada de ar. Influência da massa e do período de armazenamento das sementes na germinação e crescimento de mudas da mangueira 'Espada'. Repositório Alice

O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o efeito da massa das sementes e período de armazenamento na germinação e crescimento de mudas de mangueira 'Espada'. Separaram-se as sementes em classes: I (até 15,5 g), II (15,6 a 19,0 g) e III (acima de 19,0 g); armazenando-as por 0, 7, 14, 21 e 28 dias. O delineamento foi inteiramente casualizado e os tratamentos consistiram das classes de massa. Foram avaliados porcentagem e índice de velocidade de germinação, número de folhas, altura, diâmetro do caule e matéria seca da parte aérea das mudas. A massa das sementes não afetou a germinação. Sementes da mangueira 'Espada' não devem ser armazenadas.

Abstract Rocoto pepper (C. pubescens), is one of the domesticated species of the genus Capsicum in South America. Currently, its supply and demand are arising in national and global market. The aim of this study was to determine the optimal extraction timing of the seeds of C. pubescens according to physiological and physical seed qualities. Seed qualities measurement include seed weight, number of seeds per fruit, total emergence, emergence rate, mean emergence time, mean daily emergence, survival percentage, peak value and emergence value. The objective of this experiment was to investigate effect of accelerated aging after sweet pepper seeds were primed with two types of chemical solutions. The experiment was conducted at Seed Technology Laboratory Section in Seed Processing Plant, Faculty of Agriculture, Khon Kaen University. The sweet pepper seeds were soaked in two types of solutions: 1) 2.5%Chitosan 2) 2%KNO3 at 15oC for 5 hours. The objective of this experiment was to create identical seed by coating with fluorescent compounds. The experiment was conducted at Seed Technology Section of Seed Processing Plant, Faculty of Agriculture, Khon Kaen University. The coating formulations were prepared using 1.5 % Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose (HPMC) of fluorescent Rhodamine-B at the rates of 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, and 0.8 gram.The tomato seeds were coated by Centri Seed Coater (Model SKK 10). A study of different type and proportion of polymers were investigated on tomato seed quality. This experiment was conducted at seed technology laboratory, Seed Processing Plant, Faculty of Agriculture, Khon Kaen University. Using three polymers type polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP-K30), polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP-K90) and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA). This experiment consisted of 2 parts. The first part of experiment was to study effect of type and proportion of polymers as a film former on viscosity, dissolution of film-sheet. The objective of this study was to investigatethe effects of osmopriming method with different chemicals on changes in quality of hybrid tomato seeds. The experiment was conducted at the Seed Quality Testing Laboratory Seed Processing Plant, Faculty of Agriculture, KhonKaen University. The tomato seeds were soaked in water plus PEG 6000 (-1.5 MPa) in combination with KNO3 (1% and 2%), KH2PO4 (1% and 2%) and vitamin C (1% and 2%) at 15°C for 5 days. The experimental study design was used to examine the effects of accelerated aging on deterioration of seed quality and electrolyte leakage of cucumber seeds. The original cucumber seeds had 99 germination percentage. The cucumber seeds were taken to accelerated aging process; in aging chamber with constant temperature 450C and 100% of relative humidity for 0-21 days.
