Aggregation can suffer permanent or temporary changes to cyclical variations induced by management practices for soil and plant growth. The study evaluated the temporal and spatial variation of the stability of water stable aggregates and its relationship with the organic matter content in an Hapludalf in Santa Maria municipality, Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil. The treatments were four tillage systems for deployment of Eucalyptus grandis: no-tillage, chisel, chisel tillage plus harrowing and rotary tiller. A estrutura do solo é a forma como as partículas minerais (areia, silte e argila) e orgânicas do solo estão organizadas no espaço (Dexter, 1988). In order to determine the effect of bulk density and soil structure on their hydraulic behaviour, undisturbed samples were collected and disturbed samples were prepared from a Luvisol. The experimental field, located in Harste/Goettingen, Germany, was cultivated with sugar beet (Beta vulgaris). Aggregate stability is an important factor of the soil functioning. Greater aggregate stability leads to greater soil organic carbon (SOC) preservation, while SOC acts as a key cementing agent in aggregation processes. Abstract: The objective of this work was to evaluate the superficial and injected applications of swine slurry and urea to the soil, regarding their effects on the physical properties of a Nitossolo Vermelho distroférrico under a no-tillage system. The treatments were: injected slurry into the groove with a liquid swine slurry injector (LSSI); slurry on surface, applied on the lines by the LSSI kept raised; urea injected by opening the groove with the LSSI and distributed manually; and corn, under no-tillage, as a control. Sowing and the injection of liquid slurry or urea do not modify the organic carbon content, pH, and aggregation, but alter the soil bulk density and porosity in the mobilized line, and increase the macropores. |

It is essential to know the levels of pressure applied to the soil by different weed managements to adapt the management of coffee plantations in a sustainable manner. The objectives of this study were: a) to generate load-bearing capacity models of a Red-Yellow Latosol (Oxisol) submitted to different weed managements and b) to determine which weed management resulted in higher compression.
