Comportamento de oviposição e tempo de desenvolvimento de Brachymeria villosa (Oliver) (Hymenoptera, Chalcididae) Zoologia
Peruquetti,Rui Carlos.
The oviposition behavior and development time of Brachymeria villoso (Oliver, 1790) on Trypoxylon albitarse Fabricius, 1804 (Sphecidae) is reported. The parasitism occurs through a little hole made by the parasitoid female in the host nest wall. This hole is used by the parasitoid offspring after its emergence to left the host nest. The parasitoid egg is laid on the host larva before it built its cocoon, when such structure is made the parasitoid egg hatch into a larva that feeds on the living host larva and the parasitoid growth enclosed in the host cocoon without build its own. The development time of B. villosa was 65 days. From two nest of T. albitarse were reared 12 females and one male of B. villosa.

Bras. entomol.
Peruquetti,Rui Carlos; Del Lama,Marco Antônio.
Twenty-two nests of Trypoxylon asuncicola were sampled in Viçosa, State of Minas Gerais, Brazil, in January 2000 and the occupants' behavior of three nests was registered in 2h of direct observation. 528 brood cells were excavated (24±13.84 SD cells per nest), 129 were reused cells, some of them for seven times (meconium deposit count). The mean number of total cells, mean number of open and closed cells, parasitism rate and mean number of reused cells per nest were similar between old and new nests. Parasitism rate and cell reuse were associated with the number of building cells in the nest, but nest aggregate in the sampled area may play some role in the parasitism rate. Brachymeria sp. (Chalcididae) was the most important agent of brood mortality (80%)....

On the biology of Penepodium goryanum (Lepeletier) in wooden trap-nests (Hymenoptera, Sphecidae). Repositório Alice
GARCIA, M. V. B.; ADIS, J..
The nesting habits and life cycle of Penepodium goryanum (Lepeletier 1845) were studied in 1991 in a central Amazonian blackwater inundation-forest. Nests were obtained from artificial sites for nesting (trap-nests) and consisted of a single cell per cavity, provisioned with cockroaches of the genus Eunyctibora. The characteristics of the nest are given as well as information on the life cycle, seasonality, parasites and prey preferences of P. goryanum. The effects of the flood pulse on the seasonality of P. goryanum are discussed.

On the systematics of Trypoxylon scrobiferum Richards and T. anapaike Amarante with the recognition of a new species group in the subgenus Trypoxylon (Hymenoptera: Crabronidae: Trypoxylini) Pap. Avulsos de Zool. (São Paulo)
Amarante,Sérvio Túlio P..
The males of Trypoxylon scrobiferum Richards and T. anapaike Amarante are described for the first time and their genitalia illustrated. These species are demonstrated to represent a monophyletic group, and the scrobiferum species group is established for them. The scrobiferum species group is assigned to the subgenus Trypoxylon. This represents a new subgeneric combination for T. scrobiferum Richards.

The amazonica species group of the genus Nitela Latreille (Hymenoptera: Sphecidae: Crabroninae) Naturalis
Zuijlen, J.W.A. van.
Eight new species of the genus Nitela Latreille, 1809 (N. cooperi, N. erugifrons, N. fuscipes, N. intermedia, N. longinervis, N. menkei, N. nigripalpis, and N. polaszeki), are described. Three species previously placed in the subgenus Tenila together with the eight species described in this paper are treated here as the amazonica species group. A key to the species of the species group is given. A lectotype is designated for N. amazonica Ducke, 1903.
